Root for Miami!, Jacksonville Playoff Picture

Miami needs to beat the Jets today to start the convoluted process of getting our Jags to the Playoffs.

If the Jets lose to Miami, this is what get's Jacksonville into the Playoffs.  (I think, I'm adapting this so I might be off)

  •  Jags beat Chiefs (obviously)
  •  New England beats Tennessee
  •  Pittsburgh beats Cincinnati or San Fran beats Denver
If the Jets win, we need..
  •   Jags Beat Chiefs
  •   Oakland beats the Jets
  •   San Fran beats Denver
  •   New England beats Tennessee
  •   Pittsburgh beats Cincinnati
Could be a bit...rough.  But I'm thinking that this might not be completely accurate.  We'll know for sure after tonight's games play out.

Just a visiting Cowboys fan...
But also a huge fan of Maurice Jones-Drew. I went to high school with him, and it's been great to see him really perform well for you guys. I loved how he was usually the smallest guy on the field, but no one could bring him down. And after seeing him stiff Tedi Bruschi, it still looks like he can do that. Hopefully he'll be able to take the starting job from Fred Taylor next year.

Dude!
Any MJD anecdotes?  We're a pretty big fan of his over here.

Sorry about your loss today, that's a bummer!

Well...
He was a year ahead of me, and it was before I got too hardcore into journalism. So I don't have anything too exciting. But he was in my fundamentals of acting class. He could have changed by now, but he was very soft-spoken and kind; just a great guy all around. As for on the field, I remember this game where De La Salle (the high school) played a team from Hawaii. He looked even smaller compared to these big Samoan dudes, and was playing on one good ankle. He ran all over them and we won.

One of the first games I covered for the school as sports editor was DLS versus the powerhouse Long Beach Poly. I remember seeing one of the Poly defensive backs having "Drew Who?" on his back pad. He had like 200ish yards rushing in that game, so I'm guessing he found out who this Maurice Drew fella was.
