Jacksonville wins at Legendary Lambeau Field
The Jacksonville Jaguars won the second game of the pre-season. They did so in a not so stylish or decisive manner once again. The starters on the offensive side of the ball did not look polished individually and as a whole.

Byron Leftwich was not impressive with 6 - 16 for 67 yards and no touchdowns. He looked a bit out of sync as he overthrew Dennis Northcutt twice on what would have been big plays. His lackluster performance is starting up another quarterback controversy among media and fans already.
David Garrard played decent in his third showing this pre-season. He was 6 - 7 for 97 yards and a touchdown. He seemed comfortable in the pocket. It was obvious that the signal caller had a clear understanding with the new offense while executing plays well.
Quinn Gray looked acceptable in his first action this pre-season. It was surprising considering he was playing with what had to be a heavy heart. Unfortunately, his father passed away Thursday morning. He finished with 3 - 5 for 44 yards.
The fans that are already calling for a change in the starting quarterback don't seem to understand the new offense system of the Jags and also the NFL. When it comes to the Jags the most undecided position, it is wide receiver. This means they are trying different combos and attempting to get everyone playing time. Clearly the coaches can then properly assess which players to keep and which ones to cut or move to the practice squad.
I will be interested to see who makes it through the first round of cuts and who is let go. It will be interesting to see if the coaches are willing to finally admit that Reggie Williams is a bust and if They might try to get something for him or if cut him outright.
The defense had trouble with perennial All-Pro Brett Favre. He was cutting the secondary up in his time at the helm. It just shows that the defense still needs some work to get back where they were last year. One positive aspect was the defense came up with 5 sacks in the game. There was also an interception returned for a touchdown by Brian Iwuh.
As I said before winning is always nice. The Jags did just that in a non exciting manner. It is only pre-season. It just shows that the team, although they are getting better, still have a ways to go. I can only hope that it all comes together before the season begins.
One thing I hope they don't forget is the power of their running game that took them nearly to the playoffs last year. A strong running game is something all teams usually want. They should also remember that despite the excitement of a passing attack. We need the passing attack as a supplement to the team to get us over the top this year and help us make a solid run in the playoffs.
