i was at the game. i thought it was entertaining. All i can say is that i feel the Jags suck at keeping an ‘identity’ of run-the-ball, stop-the-run. That is an opinion, folks. Take it for what it is. I still love watching my Jaguars; good, bad, or whatever.

I was at the game also and my opinon is that we cannot win games with a QB has the most rushing yards. Dont get me wrong i am a season ticket holder and i still love my Jags but hey when u cannot run up the middle why try to do it the rest of the game.
actually we ran the ball only 29 times...
that includes David’s runs. We passed 42 times. Not counting David there were only 22 designed running plays. Although that ratio sucks, so did our O-line’s run blocking. Naole broke his hand in warm-ups, so the guy that practiced there all week wasn’t there. David played well, but overthrew 5 major gains; one was a touchdown try. We were just off tonight. We will get over it. There is alot of season left to go.

I really didnt like the 4 and 1 call to greg jones up middle, or on a critical 3rd down run for mjd right up middle. Koetter sucked balls today. Garrard and Jones are out of this world.
Normally, I wouldn't defend ' the holdout'....
but as much as I want the rookies to get sacks, our vets don’t have any either.
So let’s do the math.
The only big playmakers that left were Stroud and McCray.
The rest of the line is back plus 2 of the top 6 ends in the draft.
McCray has only 10 tackles on the season, with 3 sacks, while Stroud has a whopping 20 tackles and 2 sacks. Add them together and you have ONE great player.
Yet our defense, yes the whole defense has only 9 sacks on the season.
Oh and, we made one other change in the off-season. We aquired Gregg Williams….
I’ll let you do the math.

Ugh
Somehow, Koetter still doesn’t understand the strengths of our players. We lose our guards and he still runs it up the middle, despite gaining 100+ against Denver when MJD kicked it outside.
So frustrating.

Personally,
Koetter and Williams could both catch a slow boat to China. Hell, there are some highschool coaches that could see the fundamentals that they don’t.
Years ago, there was a coach that use to be at Neville High School in Monroe, La. named Charlie Brown. His philosophy was to run a play and if it worked, keep running it until they stop it. Then run another in the same fashion. They beat my highschool 19 out of 20 years in a row. After he left Neville, things changed. They haven’t beaten us in about 17 years, now. Plus, we have 2 National titles since. Maybe, old Charlie was on to something …..something basic.
The Jags have one game with power running, then one where JDR forgets that we have running backs, period. Then one awesome running game, then one where Drew is standing on the sideline. For cryin’ out loud, pick a damn offense and stick with it. That seems to work pretty good for the other teams we’ve played. We played Cleveland, a team whose defense sucked at stopping the run and we proceeded to run 27 more pass plays than run plays. ( Considering that David’s 7 carries were designed pass plays). That means we called over twice as many pass plays as we did run plays. Somebody call Waren Moon, even he wouldn’t believe that.
From NFL.com.
Passing CP/AT YDS TD INT
D. Garrard 25/42 283 2 0
Rushing ATT YDS TD LG
D. Garrard 7 59 0 24
M. Jones-Drew 12 29 0 5
F. Taylor 8 24 0 5
T. Williamson 1 1 0 1
G. Jones 1 0 0 0

I knew
Shaun Rodgers was going to give us problems. We will be ok though. If it wasn’t for a few fluky plays we beat a Browns team on a good day, and the Giants know what’s that like. I feel like we played much better in the second half. The D tightened up a lot. The pass blocking was great. Meester helped out a lot. It was easy for me to see the differnce he made. I think once Naeole comes back we will be better off. I wish Naeole would’ve gotten hurt sooner if he was going to get hurt so that Dennis Norman could have gotten reps at RG. Probably would have been better off with him there. All the receivers played well I thought, even Dennis Northcutt.
3 - 4 and playing like it
My intellect knows that this is a .500 team, but the heart still wants to win. Maybe next year – just to many deficiencies this year.
Memo to Weaver: Next time you feel like just giving away $30M, consider me. I’m confident that I too, can contribute a dropped pass for this team. PS – I’ll only charge $20M for the privledge Wayne! WHAT A DEAL!!!!
We are what are record says we are
There is something not quite right yet, but I agree with Ewdtrey, they are beginning to play better in a number of areas.
I hate to say this, but some of our “big name” players are not playing big. To point fingers… Rasheen Mathis, Mercedes Lewis, Drayton Florence, Mike Peterson.
The Browns beat Rasheen and Drayton today, and Jamal Lewis up the middle is Mike.
You are correct, sir...
But you had me laughin’ because I thought of that press conference with ‘Denny’ Green. “They were who we thought they were ( We are what are record says we are)” (added) “But we let ’em off the hook!” That one is almost as funny as Jim Mora with, “PLAYOFFS? … PLAYOFFS? I just hope we can win a game.”

Meier I think
was the culprit in the bad run D. It may have something to do with his knee, but he was really outplayed by Derek Landri. McDaniel was almost no where to be found, not that he played bad but he was hardly out there. I agree Meier did get better as the game went on. I think part of his problem was scheme. They tried to make do some weird stunts at the wrong time when I think we all know he’s almost a pure 3 technique. Hey coaching staff, deactivate one of the receivers and get some more rotation on the D line. Also Hayward should play more often at the DT position. He’s a beast everytime he’s in there. Groves needs to be a little more mindful of being offsides.
Time...
heals all wounds… I still need some, time. It was an edge-of-your-seat game, that’s for sure. Garrard was on fire, and I like to see that.
For a while, I thought some of the defense looking good was bad play calling by Romeo. But then our buys ended up blowing Jamal Lewis up in the backfield. Some signs of hope there. Maybe they’re clicking now, or starting to?
Who’d a thunk-it, Matt Jones. He’s plowing for extra yardage, and was able to get to the sideline from the middle of the field to stop the clock while gaining yards. Who is this masked man and what have you done with our underachiever? Whatever you have done with him, good-on-ya mate!
The season isn’t over yet, we’d have to win out to get to 12-4, but stranger things have happened.
I’m going back to my fridge for more self consoling with 12oz bottles, I suppose I would have done that either way, I’d just be alot happier about it the other way.
Mike Peterson had his best game of the season. There’s only so much a MLB can do when his DT’s aren’t swallowing up blockers. I think Mathis may have been asleep for the 1st half though…
How about
Reggie Williams making a few great catches. He had a string of them at the end of the half, beginning of the third. Especially that long pass, he looked good there.
Nothing is making me happier though than Matt Jones. Had he held onto that ball, we have our big play receiver.
Dude,
I think the ’ final countdown’ on the home page is giving people seizures.

It's funny
My consoling-myself activities look very similar to my celebration activities. The former doesn’t include pride and a big smile though. Coincidentally, they both include mass quantities of bottled malted beverages.
As an after thought, I think Ewdtrey is Vic in disguise. He throws us off by changing things up sometimes, but look closely, and think what Vic would write if he were trying to throw us off his trail… maybe it’s the Cable Car talking… yup, probably the Cable Car talking.
Well no doubt about it now
I’ll be pulling for the Titans tomorrow night. They can have the division now.
Man, I've got to stop letting this team dictate my emotions
I don’t know which is more dissapointing, getting beaten easily or getting beaten in the final seconds. I seem to be much more depressed after the latter. Just can’t stop thinking about the what ifs. What if Matt Jones had made that catch? What if Witherspoon had held on to the damn ball? What if Groves hadn’t been offsides on that pick? What if they had called pass interference? Just one play could have changed this game from one of the worst this season to one of the best I’ve ever seen. This game seems to be characteristic of Jaguars football, On the verge of greatness but never quite there.
Good
wow yeah you did nail it right on the head, completely agree

You got it right
So close to being an amazing morale-boosting game…. instead too many fans seem to have lost all hope.
