Friday's Final Injury Report
We have the final injury report and it doesn't look to good for the Jaguars' secondary. Nelson and Florence are both out for the game, and although some had hoped Meester might be well enough to play, he isn't, and will miss again this week. I'd imagine almost everyone on the Steeler injury report will play except for those listed as "out" and maybe Frazier and Bailey (although I'd expect them to play). Players listed as "OUT" are not permitted to play. Doubtful indicates a 25% chance of playing, Questionable indicates a 50% chance to play, and probable means it is a virtual certainty the individual will see the field.
Ben Roethlisberger WILL start. He may not finish the game, but he'll start for his team. It would be really interesting to see Byron play against us though, I was always a fan of his, but he obviously couldn't cut it in Jacksonville for whatever reason(s).
How worried are you guys about Will James seeing significant playing time? It sure would be nice to have Scott Starks right about now, huh?
GO JAGS!

Will looked strong early....
but got shaky late. Although he got six tackles against Houston, I feel like he will be targeted. Hopefully Gerald will keep an eye out for that and get another INT.

We'll probably see Pierson Prielou as well.
Maybe it’ll be Williams and Mathis at CB and Gerald and Prielou at Safety. Will James would then be a nickel CB.
All they will be able to do is pass, so we must get pressure. I’d expect to see alot of quick passes from Big Ben. He won’t hold it long.
What do you think of Prielou so far? I’ve really only seen him on special teams that I can recall.

pretty good...
he has been awesome on special teams and made some great plays. But I am concerned as to why the coaching staff hasn’t given him much to do with defensive coverage. Is it something they see or don’t see in him?

Prioleau
he actually looks pretty good back there. He looks like he knows what he’s doing in Williams’ D that he’s be in for a while. His downside however is his that he’s not very atheletic.
Also, I doubt that Brian Williams is gonna start at corner because we play in the nickel package so much and because playing the NB position takes more understanding of the defense than Will James has a grasp of this soon after joining the team.
yeah, I agree...
the learning curve is why we were cutting him slack at the game.

Disagree
If your talking about Will James, I respectfully disagree. I find that during the Houston game he was targeted all day and was at fault for many of the Owen Daniels receptions and maybe the Slaton TD (?) (Have to watch that play again). If the Jags lose Sunday night, I can see him as being one of the main problems.
Will won't have to wait long....
for some help. The Jags just re-signed Isaiah Gardner back from the practice squad. He was a pretty good DB at Maryland. Interesting side note: he was a RB/DB in high school who finished his career with 2,415 yards rushing and 47 touchdowns … named a SuperPrep and theislands.com All-American and an ESPN top 30 rusher.
