Yet another view on Mike Peterson

I don't know what to think of the continuing saga of Mike Peterson versus Jack Del Rio.

Star-divide

But, according to an ESPN report, there's a little more behind the scene.

For my opinion, I'd say I've always liked Mike P's intensity and leadership. I have no idea (and no one else who posts here can possibly have an idea, unless they're in the huddle) if his leadership has lacked as of late, but I would hope that is not the case. I do believe that Daryl Smith can handle the position quite well as shown over the last couple of years when Peterson was absent. I wouldn't be completely dissapointed if Mike was replaced by Daryl, but it's never good to replace a healthy player almost smack in the middle of a season. Time will tell.

How would you feel if Peterson wasn't to play another down for the Jaguars?

Anyhow, to read the ESPN blurb, click here.

I don't know why I feel this way

I’ve liked Pete every year UNTIL NOW. I always loved seeing him completely plugging a hole in the D-line, until now. I have not been focusing on him this year, but I have not seen any, and I mean ANY big plays from him this year and it is ok. For some reason, I really want him cut right now. and feel we would be better and have better chemistry without the dude. Our LB’s are good without him and I think he’s just adding unneeded Soap operaesque feelings behind doors. I will always side with the coach over a player, and it seems Del Rio has never liked Pete. I think Del Rio is a coach who knows what he wants and I respect that. He does not want Peterson in there.

HE won't be cut bc if one of the other three gets hurt, he's a competent back-up.

Del RIo was a big force in signing Mike, he was supposed to be Del Rio’s defensive anchor…

It’s Mike’s own fault…
You’re right though… he’s not gonna be back next year and this soap opera crap has to stop.

Being from Southern California

I get plenty of drama from the Lakers and occasionally the Angels and Dodgers. One of my favorite things about the Jaguars has been their ability to not have all that crap and just play football. I hope this ends soon because it is very disappointing.
