Jaguars-Lions post game thoughts
As someone else who commented in the game thread, when this team wins, I have a lot less to say. For sure some of this victory was because we played the Lions, but it is still satisfying. Hopefully we can keep this going next week and derail the Titans quest for perfection.
Game Balls Go To
Maurice Jones-Drew for 3 touchdowns
Matt Jones for his amazing catch on 4th down
Jack Del Rio for cracking down this week
Also, was toying around in my boredom to get an official looking banner for Game threads. The one below is a protoversion on the final look, any input would be appreciated.

I have no idea how much work
it is to make that, but I’d make everything a little brighter and maybe change the font. I have no complaints, just a suggestion.

good effort. kinda looks like it’s off an Excel spreadsheet. What is “SBN coverage”?

cause it is an excel spread sheet ;)
SBN coverage means “Sports Blogger Network” coverage. It’s basicly whatever blog on here covers the team we’re playing

Better Effort
We must temper our praise since this was the Lions. Last week against the 2nd worst team in football, we didn’t fair so well as we were soundly whipped on the LOS.
I agree that on the surface, it would appear that JDR’s hammer dropping may have provided a wakeup call. We actually had a Porter AND a Williamson sighting yesterday (and both for TD’s). We also had a Harvey and Groves sighting as well. And we had a running game sighting. Even though it was agianst the Lions, this team played more physically and with a better effort.
But this was against the Lions with no QB. Show us this stuff next week and I’ll become the grand mashall in the celebration parade. Until then, I’m still looking for the ladder to climb out of the hole we’ve dug for ourselves.

The D
is what is still worrying me. We always knew our offense could do some things if they just started clicking. Smith ran all over us for the most part. It’s difficult to say what will happen against the Titans. With Mike P, and big Hen back in the line-up we should do better on run D than yesterday. But how much better? If the rest of the time they were in is any indication, be prepared for the Titans to do to us what we like to do to Indy. That is run run run, and keep our offense off the field.
We’ll need big stops this week. Let’s hope we can get there.
Go Jags! Nothing I’d like more than to hand Tenn their first loss. Perhaps the roll of spoiler for their run at a perfect season will be enough to get it done. That’s what I’m rooting for the rest of the year. We’re the spoiler. Anything we can earn above that, well that’s gonna be gravy!
