Jaguars will be on WKMG - CBS in Orlando...Dispite outrage by Fish fans
Here is what has been going on in my neck of the woods. The local CBS station is under contract by the Jaguars and the NFL to broadcast the Jaguars-Ravens game instead of the Dolphins - Jets game. The local Fish fans are a bit upset, to say the least. Orlando is the Jaguars' "second team market area" and the local CBS affiliate is required by contract to show all of the Jaguars away games. Even the local newspaper writer adds fuel to the fire about this dispute between the network and the local Dolphin fans.
I however, am very glad that this is going to happen. You see, I live in Cocoa and drive 2 and a half hours every home game weekend to see the Jags play in Jacksonville. I don't know anyone around here or in Orlando that drives to the Dolphins game. Jacksonville is geographically much closer than Miami. The fans that buy home tickets and attend the games deserve to see the away games on TV. When the TV contracts are agreed upon, there is no way to know what teams will be playing for this late in the year. It does suck that the Fins, Bucs, and Jags can't all be on TV here locally, but I think the Jaguars fans that go to the games do deserve to see the away games on TV.
Check out these two articles and postings in the Orlando Sentinel. Feel free to comment or post as they do not require any registration. The article writen by Jerry Greene is extreemly bias and rediculous. Just check it out for yourselves. Very amusing.

Wow..
so much hate. I like “pathetic City”, “Faguars”, and “move the Jags to L.A.”. Makes me laugh that the 1-15 team last year got the rights to call us sucky.

hahaha,
probably the same people that were Jaguar fans last year.

Yea
probably the same people with scars from the 1999 Dolphins Jaguars (farewell Dan) playoff game…

go jets!
just a stray ravens fan wandering over..what are the Jags strengths and what can we expect overall. are the jags sounding positive this week or are they looking to next year?
i’m hoping for a good game but last games of year are a toss up. the ravens can expect some crazy 4th down plays for sure. thats the scary aspect of playing a free wheeling team with nothing to loose. any thoughts? thanks.
I think this could be a battle
And I don’t think I’m just being biased. My issue however is considering how little we are playing for we may not play all our “star” players or at least not a lot.
I’m afraid of someone like Ngata playing one on one with Brad Meester. But if he tries to play through the A or B gaps I think we should be ok as our guards, even though they are back ups, are pretty strong. The ILB blitzes probably won’t work too well, but our tackles may have some problems matching up against your OLB’s. Our RT struggles against speed, and our LT struggles against power.
I noticed that even though Flacco has been throwing over the middle a little more than he used too he still really likes those outside throws. If I was our DC I would put Justin Durant our current OLB that’s played MLB in college and has been cross trained with the Jags, at MLB. The reason being is that he’s the most athletic LB we have and he can cover guys like Heap if he needs too and he can drop back in coverage faster than our other LB’s. This allows our Safeties to cheat outside a little more in our normal cover two shell. Also I would get our fast pass rushers in the game early on, but only on the outside because your tackles, as big and strong as they are, are not that fleet a foot.
I don’t think you’ll see a whole lot of nickel, and you’ll see a lot of 8 man fronts. Though recently, we have been pretty good at stopping the run with only 7 men. I think we’ll see you guys test us deep a lot, as we’ll probably try to play some press, and sometimes I think it will work.
I actually expect our former back up CB to play better than the former safety that formerly replaced him, because Brian Williams the former S doesn’t have good make up speed and Florence the normally plays press.
If however you get your running game early the Jags will be in for a long day because we have no depth at DT. We have a 3 man rotation and only one of them is a run stuffer and he’s old and beat up. I expect about 38 or 39 rush attempts for your team if they get going early.
Depending on how aggressive the Jags offense comes out and how well the OL picks up the blitzes I think will determine the outcome of this game. Also watch out for some crazy special teams plays, and a good first or second drive from the Jags.
