Gene Smith article

Just read the Gene Smith interview with Vic on Jaguars.com and 4 things came to mind:

1) He mentioned no praise for Shack Harris

2) He believes in building thru the draft

3) He believes in drafting the best available player

4) He believes in building from the inside out

I see a major difference in philosophy between Gene Smith and Shack Harris which gives me a positive outlook for the future of the Jaguars.

Agreed, his head is in the right direction

Let’s see if he can pull the trigger on the right players.

Interesting read

Looking back, really, how many draft picks had the Jags used under Harris on lineman in the first two rounds? Khalif Barnes, Harvey, and Groves. That’s pathetic.

It's like

Vic picked him himself.

I can handle

the .500 year or better as long as the team is improving and moving forward. Give me something to look forward to next year.

I actually like the fact that the Jags will be off the radar for next year. It makes other teams underestimate us and that is when the Jags play best!

A Great Change

Gene Smith in my opinion has a much better draft strategy, and I think he can get some quality players to the Jaguars, and in the next two or three years we can be back in the playoffs.
