Closing Time: One final go on the Gridiron
The season that took far too long to arrive is now going to end far too soon for the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around this idea that on Monday, the season is over and all we have left is the full eight months of offseason to look forward too. We're not watching the Jaguars take on the Ravens for any reason other than to look at what we're developing for next season and pondering who straps on the teal and black for the last time.
Final Game in a Jaguars Uniform
1. Mike Peterson: Sad to see him go, especially since he's the one free agent signing that's actually panned out. He's played with fire as a backup and then as a replacement starter. I hope that his issues this season are swept under the rug when we consider his role in Jaguars history.
2. Khalif Barnes: Barring something remarkable happening, Khalif will leave the Jaguars as a free agent and begin the reformation process of our offensive line. We don't really have anything developing at left tackle, not with the terrible event with Richard Collier.
3. Jerry Porter: Too bad, so sad. Can we get a refund?
Injury Report:
Not much to mention here, Maurice Jones-Drew has missed practices, but we know he's someone that will play if the coaches let him.
About the Playoffs...
So if the Jaguars lose, the Patriots are eliminated from the playoffs. I'll take that as a consolation prize.

Perhaps you can help us out
by not bringing your “A” game for one last time this season. We need the “W” and hopefully the Buffalo Bills will take care of business by upsetting the Pats in the early game, so we both can take it nice and easy at 4pm. Otherwise, I’m not taking this game as a gimme by any means, as your guys will not just lay down and would love to go out a winner. Let us know if you hear anything else on MJD’s status. Thanks and happy holidays!

I guess that round will be waiting until next year
Ohwell, I could think of worse places to celebrate the Jags first Super Bowl win then South Beach

How are you so sure Jerry Porter is gone?

It's really not
As I’ve said many times, why get rid of him now? Is he going to do worse? No, that’s not possible. You already owe him all his guaranteed money, so it doesn’t cost anything extra* to keep him around long enough to see what a healthy hamstring and a training camp can do for him and his chemistry with David.
*Since the contract is for 6 years and $30 million – an average of $5 million a year – and he is guaranteed $10 million, keeping him around another year actually cuts his per year cost in half.

Everything you say is correct
except I think JDR went south on him. It will be interesting to see if the threat of being cut has any effect. Matt Jones turned around. He also seems to have buddied up to Jack. I wonder if Jerry has it in him.
