I admit it, my real identity is Matt Millen. In all seriousness, this is a shot in the dark and considering the Jaguars STILL don't have anybody that can stretch the field, I believe both Harvin and Missouri WR Jeremy Maclin are on our watch list, especially if either somehow slips into Round 2.
Pros: Faster than Greased lightning, he's been the main weapon for the Gators as a dual threat runner/receiver. Terrific hands and simply makes plays with the ball. Never takes a play off.
For the Jaguars: As I said, the Jags still don't have a deep threat. Harvin could come in and have a role similar to Reggie Bush has with the Saints, aka just line up somewhere and we'll get you the ball.
Cons: Not the greatest run blocker, injury prone, size issues against bigger cornerbacks
For the Jaguars: If you want to play WR for Jacksonville, you'll be expected to run block well. In addition, with the way the injury bug has been hitting, do we want to tempt fate?
Likely scenario to be drafted: I highly doubt Harvin will be our first round pick. With pressing needs elsewhere, plus I will strangle the next guy on ESPN who says the Jags draft players from UF to sell tickets. However, I've seen some mocks drop him into round 2 for the reasons I've mentioned. A good scenario would be one of the Big 3 Left Tackles, most likely Eugene Monroe, dropping to us, then Harvin falling into round 2, where the Jags could get him, or at least move up at a reasonable cost.
