welcome to the suckuars

Welcome to another losing season?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Wow who would've imagined this at the beginning of the season? This is rough man... It didn't kick in until right about ......now lol. I deff. see a a big change in coaches/players  coming up. I guess we get a high draft pick huh? I can only hope that we trade out of the spot for a couple players or get a serious impact player, which is what what we need imo. We have MJD who can break some plays open for the most part but who else? Garrard gets the ball rolling but I believe that a reciever who can actually do something after the catch would work wonders!!! Crabtree??? Will he be available? Probably not. Anyways, what a rough year. Here's to next year, cheers.

boo hoo

Sorry to offend you… What am I supposed to say? A rough year had by all. If you really don’t like it, don’t read it. Just disgusted by this team. Yes it would be nice to have an impact player.

percy harvin..

Btw dont agree on the subject of percy harvin… you say that Crabtree is just another tall reciever, he’s much more than than that. Guess we’ll see huh?

Crabtree

I agree with you about Crabtree. I think he’s a big time player, but I want a fast yards after catch guy. Someone who can make a play after they catch it and I think Harvin would do that better than Crabtree. Regardless, I don’t think a first rounder should be used on a wide receiver unless the Jaguars trade down and happen to be in a good spot when one of those guys slides farther than expected.

Agreed. It’s hard to really know what area the jags should attack via draft. I checked out a bunch of mock drafts and they seem to have us high on LB (laurinitis) or Wr (Macklin). The area I tend to look at is our secondary, a hard call to make. I’m interested to see how things shake out. Jags need our support and I hope they’ll be back to winning ways in 09!!! I wish I lived closer.. Not easy to check out a game or anything when you’re in Maine. lol

I don't read mock drafts

Until the real guys do them. Right now you’ll just get some redskin fan who knows exactly what the redskins needs but not quite everyone else.

hmm

yeah just interesting to see what the sports journalists have to say about things, they hold no real substance.

by kickandsnare07 on Dec 7, 2008 6:52 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I'd prefer a little more substance

But hey, at 4 and 9, it’s hard to be more than angry.

I’ve moved into the “acceptance” phase. It’s time to enjoy what bright spots are left and start dreaming about what “Santa Draft” is going to leave under our stocking in April.

While you're at it....

Why don’t we draft Timmy? /oh Jesus feels faint has to sit down.

by BurritoBrosShits on Dec 7, 2008 9:17 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

When you say Timmy, do you mean Timmy Tebow?

(Assuming you are) I was wondering what you Florida fans think of him? Do you all praise him like a God? He’s a great competitor, an amazing athlete, and a pretty good quarterback. What do you think he can do in the NFL? Would you want the Jags to draft him?

I haven’t seen him nearly as much as you gator fans, but what I see is a guy who can do everything pretty well, but in the NFL, you need to be really good at a particular area that the coaches can improve on, to be great. There are exceptions though, where the player is such a hard-working competitor, a player that just knows how to get it done, and wins. Can Tebow be that guy? Am I completely off-base on all of this? Like I said, you’ve seen more of him, what can you tell me?

Here's my opinion of him, and is backed up by several draft sites

Pros
-leadership
-arm strength
-toughness

Cons
-Accuracy, especially short and medium routs
-Couldn’t look off Helen Keller
-way behind the curve as far as mechanics go

He will never be a star QB, think Alex Smith of the 49ers, Urban Meyer coached him as well.

It’s much harder to run over people in the NFL too.

I wouldn’t be opposed to using a 4th rounder on the guy if he came out early this season, but that won’t happen. He’s a deity in Gainsville and I doubt he gives that up to come out early when he’s gotta know he won’t be a first rounder. His character is impeccably spotless, and I’d be ok with him being a project utility player. I just don’t think he does any one thing amazingly well, and I don’t see him earning a spot. Maybe bring him on just to show some of our guys what it means to love the game j/k.

That would be my question

Does Tebow get drafted into the NFL and if so at what position? Personnally, I think he is what they term a ‘great college QB’ and nothing more. Lord knows the Jags don’t need any more draft experiments.

by Jaghomer on Dec 8, 2008 12:40 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Exactly

Tebow is an interesting debate and experiment, but I’d much rather let another team toy around with a draft pick than the Jaguars.

by SoCalStites on Dec 8, 2008 2:23 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Lions east

Lets keep drafting Gators and then next year the Jags really will be Lions east 0-16.

by jagsrealist on Dec 8, 2008 6:26 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah since reggie nelson, derrick harvey, and Fred Taylor are the root of the team's problems

If we had never drafted them we would have won a bunch of Superbowls by now right? We have had flops from a lot of different schools, (not that I consider any of those afformentioned flops). What I’m saying is we should not pick or shun potential draft picks based on what school they are from. Harvin, no matter who picks him will be great in the NFL, not saying that we should as he would be very expensive and we have many other pressing needs to address. As for Tebow, if he were to go into the draft next year (he won’t) he would suck. I’ll give him another year and see how he does. A guy with that kind of athleticism will find a use somewhere in the NFL.

by rusty904 on Dec 8, 2008 3:31 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

harvin maybe

i think if he goes in the second round, which is a possibility, the jags would be wise to snap him up. i think first round needs to go to either an O-lineman, D-lineman, or corner. second round could address WR or whatever we didn’t pick up in the first.

I just have to say

as a Steelers fan I love seeing this team limp into a losing season with no shot at the playoffs. And it looks like next year is the first year I can remember that the Steelers won’t have to play this team. I’m looking forward to a jagless schedule.

I think now, after this final taunt, I can finally have some closure over the 2007 playoffs. I haven’t seen the fedora since then. Time to turn the page.

PS Very impressed with Collier’s outlook and message lately. Good luck and God’s grace to him.

Yeah

Good for you you will go a year without having a nightmare of Rashean Mathis embarrassing Big Ben.

In the playoffs that is

He already embarrassed him Week 5 this year

He already embarrassed him Week 5 this year

Roethlisberger overcame an ailing right shoulder to complete 26 of 41 passes for 309 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
