Contract Extension: Jacksonville Jaguars extend Defensive Tackle Tony McDaniel
Jacksonville Sports Radio 101XL just reported that the Jaguars have agreed to a Contract Extension with Defensive Tackle Tony McDaniel. The 6-7, 310 third year player is an imposing, albeit developing player on the roster. McDaniel has played in 15 games in his career, but missed 12 last season due to injury.
The Jaguars would not have traded Marcus Stroud if they did not believe that Tony McDaniel would develop into a force on the defensive line.
Terms are not disclosed, as usual, but I will post them as soon as they are leaked.
This is the third extension in the last few days with defensive tackle Rob Meier coming to terms with an extension along with tackle Richard Collier Defensive End Paul Spicer was offered a contract, but did not come to an agreement.

nice
if he’s all he could be, we could have to big time volunteer boys holding up the middle. provided he stays healthy, that would be a pretty good four man rotation at the DT spot.

I did.
Very strange mistake on my part. My apologies.

I’m glad there’s mention of defensive tackles. It’s one of the most crucial parts to the Jaguars’ run defense. Henderson wasn’t in full form because of off-field issues so this year should be stronger. Meier is a proven veteran and, I think, an excellent choice to fill Stroud’s role. McDaniel would be great if he keeps improving and stays healthy. Landri is a great rotational DT- fast with a nonstop motor. And let’s not forget we picked up Jimmy Kennedy- a DT that fits the Jaguars’ extra strong, run-stop mold.
