I have to run to the airport, but I wanted to post some info I just found over at PFT.
HAYWARD DEMOTED FOR MISSING VOLUNTARY WORKOUTS
Posted by Mike Florio on May 23, 2008, 12:31 p.m.Jaguars defensive end Reggie Hayward missed two days of voluntary “Organized Teams Activities” this week.
When he returned, he was placed with the second team.
“I’m not upset about it,” he said of the demotion. “I’ll work my way back.”
Well, that's interesting. I wonder if it wasn't becasue of great play by Harvey and Groves as much as it was missing the OTA's. Hayward or Spicer may be on the outs in J-ville (complete speculation), IF one of our draft picks really steps up.
That being said, their is no cap-reasoning to cut a player like Spicer or Hayward... We've got plenty of money.
[Editorial Note: Hayward has been promoted to 1st string... That didn't last long at all. Good for Reggie!]

I doubt anything that Harvey and Groves have done in gym shorts would justify Hayward being demoted.

Besides, Wyche and Pettway were getting “first string” reps for most of the OTA’s anyhow. No reason to pull them for a guy who missed OTA’s for whatever reason.
While it’s fun to speculate on the roster, there is no way to estimate the depth chart at this point…

If Hayward plays like he did before the Achilles tear, he will be just fine. What’s interesting is what will happen with Mo Williams. This guy has waited for his chance to be a starter, almost left, but was re-signed because he thought he had an opportunity. With Nwaneri showing up big in OTA, Williams may again be a backup. I guess it depends on Barnes or any injuries along the line.

Football is to physical in the trenches to not expect an injury. The Jags have done well in acquiring depth.

He is showing the right atitude. When the real war begins he will be there. OTA’s are no time to sweat. I actually like the attitude.

as of saturday, may 24, Hayward is back with the first team… according to the Times Union “Ultimate Jaguars” site… i think it was basic veteran motivation anyhow… no big deal.
