Spinning Ticket Sales
This is a great article that shows how some spin has made ticket sales look pretty poor, causing all sorts of other negative attraction to our beloved Jaguars. I would like to say that, if you can afford to, go out and get season tickets, bundled game packages, or even single game tickets. It's so much better to see a game in person! Plus, it's a win-win situation for the fans and Jaguars organization.
From Tim McClellan at MVN.com .
With all of the hoopla surrounding the Jacksonville Jaguars, local media has had to resort to spinning things in any way possible to paint the situation with ticket sales in a negative light.
The Jaguars currently have fewer than 4,000 non-premium season tickets remaining in order to declare the 2008 season a sell-out, avoiding blackouts. This number has been touted as being behind the pace for ticket sales in 2006 when the local media has reported on this. What has not been reported is that the team is actually ahead of their numbers for 2007. Renewals are up by 10% over previous years, and the number of tickets that need to be sold in order to avoid blackouts is smaller than the threshold that the team had to contend with last year...

I trimmed this up a bit so that Tim/FBT would get proper credit! He’s a friend of the site!

Debating on buying
So here is my decision. I am in the Army stationed here. I am planning on retiring here so I want to start rooting for the Jags (Long time Cowboys fan). So should I buy season tickets? Easy answer YES. but I can get USO tickets at NAS Jax for less than $10 a game but I would have to buy them every week and would never get the same section let alone seats. That could be good in that I could see the entire stadium but I most likely would not see the Colts and I really want to be at that game.
So Should I buy or not???

I'd encourage you to do this...
Find north end zone season tickets. The NEZ is a blast to watch games, great crowd, good folks, and it’s certainly the loudest part of the stadium.
It’s a section that you’ll quickly make friends and feel apart of the Jaguars community.
That said, you’ve earned the USO tickets for serving your country, and shouldn’t think twice about taking advantage of the chance for inexpensive seats.
Be sure you stick around BCC for awhile, I’ll be at the Colts game in December, and I’m planning a big tailgate for all the readers. I’d love to have a beer with you. I was born in Plano Texas and my mom never fails to pull out pictures of a very young me in a Cowboys uniform. This was many years before Jacksonville had a team and I moved to the city, so it’s forgivable!
I like your sig by the way. Good stuff!

Chris
Thanks. I will be around BCC for good. I have gotten to the point it’s the first place I go when I turn my laptop on.
I called the ticket office yesterday and they told me they have less than 3000 season tickets reamining, they tried to put the pressure on me to get in this year before they sell out because I might not be able to get them next year if I wait. I was almost ready to buy but then I asked about my 2 yr old son and they told me he would have to have a ticket as well.
So now its $1300 or so vs $300 or so. I think I am going to go the USO route this year and see where I really want to wind and then I will buy.
I like what you have told me about the NEZ, that is why you go to the games, to make friends, tailgate, etc. for the entire experience.
Well see you later,
Keep up the great work for us fans out here!
