Quinn Gray cut by Texans

Today Monday June 9th the texans cut former jags back up qb. Is it possible that the Jags cut Lemon and sign Gray again???  In my opinion i would really like to get Gray back into a teal uniform. I believe he showed promise last year when garrard was hurt.  I think he is a much more proven back up qb in our system than Cleo is. What is your guys take on this situation?

Nahhhh

I don’t think the Jaguars are going to resign Gray. I believe he would not want to be a backup with us, especially since we locked up Garrard to a big, fat extension. I like Gray a lot, but I think he should fit better on a team where he would have a shot at starting in the immediate future. Maybe on a team with an old QB?

Yes I do!

He won’t have a Job and Cleo is not working out so far. It makes sense to bring him back.

Credit where it's due...

Byron Leftwich and David Garrard usually looked Cleo Lemon bad at this point in the OTA’s. Let’s see how he looks in pads and with contact in TC before we hit the panic button. Besides, I’d lay good odds that Gray is still available come late August.

WOW just wow

They must really think he sucks. To be honest, he wasn’t as good as his numbers showed. He was lucky with a lot of bad throws. I think Cleo Lemon is a step up, not a large one though. He’s got better mobility and understands his role behind Garrard. It also appears as though Lemon takes better care of his body than Quinn. Quinn is just fat, which I guess isn’t that big of a deal at his position but that shows to me a lack of commitment as a back up. I do like Quinn don’t get me wrong. I’m just a little bitter.

Not working out?

It is way too early to tell if someone is working out. Especially being new to the team AND it only being the underwear practices. Can’t tell very much when there’s not a lot of pressure. If the Jaguars thought so highly of Gray, why didn’t they keep him? He certainly didn’t command much money with the Texans, so a big contract must not have been Gray’s reason for leaving. Let it play out over the real training camps and let’s revisit this at that time. All imho.

Grey wanted an open competition for the starting job...

The Jags didn’t like his attitude and felt he might create a locker-room problem. He most likely would’ve been very happy with a lemon type contract, but both sides overestimated his value. He won’t be a Jag again

Cleo "The Three Million Dollar Man" Lemon

Shall never wear the Teal and Black again. He burnt a few too many bridges while jonsing for a new contract in Jacksonville. Drew Rosenhaus is usually pretty good with his clients, but the endgame for Gray last season combined with his terrible signing with the texans shows that even the good agents screw up sometimes.

I don’t want him in Jacksonville under any circumstance. Todd Bouman is a better option than Gray.

Are you serious?

Quinn Grey return and let Cleo Lemon go? Get an iPod and download Miami verses Cleveland and compare that to any Quinn Grey game. Cleo can play. If not, there are two guys behind him who can as well. How stupid would the Jags look signing Quinn Grey?

Cleo is a step up.

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I think Lemon is a big improvement over Gray. Cleo played well at times last year for a team that was just horrible. He needs a little more time to learn the system and to get to a higher comfort level with the offense. I cant imagine that the schemes the Fins through at him last year were all that difficult to learn. I think after training camp is over we will see a good young back-up QB. If not, we have Bouman. As for Gray, well hopefully he can find a team to play for. It would be a waste of a decent player.

Cleo, Miami's mistake, Jax solid back up

In Miami (over the past 5 years) anyone good can and will fail. Front office there creating problems, so we may as well pick up a great athlete that can actually throw the ball. In Miami he didn’t have a good line or wide receivers, Both the Jags have. I think once you stick the helmet and pads on he will produce when asked to do so!
