Give Jones a chance to rebound
The Jags would make a mistake by releasing Matt Jones now. Often a major kick in the butt like this arrest is what helps a person wake up, shed the air of entitlement and turn his or her life around. Maybe Jones has hit bottom and recognizes the changes he has to make not only in his personal life, but as a football player as well. He is certainly no hero in Arkansas anymore, and the only way to regain his self respect and his reputation is to show some toughness and be the player and person everyone expected him to be.We've given him several chances as a player, let's give him one more as a person and see what he's really made of.

Sure...
Sure, he can have a second chance as a person. I hope he graduated college though. He was already done in the nfl, bc he was going to be cut anyway, so no big deal. Just sucks we can’t get a 9th round pick for trading him to someone.
Maybe he could get Brian Williams magicians, I mean legal team. I’m sure he’ll throw enough signing bonus at this case and walk away with a slap on the wrist.

You gotta feel his pain. As a person we all make mistakes and need forgiveness but in the NFL this is not Baseball it’s almost become One and done, I do wish him the best in his upcoming trial.

He most feel like a complete moron. You don’t do coke in the back seat of a truck, in a ghetto if your a high profile player. If he wanted to do drugs I’m sure he could have done it in a much safer location. Just another example of pampered players thinking they are above the law. I don’t feel sorry for anyone who has made millions, and wastes their talent. I believe the Cowboys like murderers and troublemakers, maybe he should apply there. I feel really bad for all the kids who own his jersey and now have to ask their parents why he doesn’t play on the team anymore.
Great Job!

No second chance
Cocaine drug use is a cancer on this team. Eliminate him and let the good people and players play. Rewarding bad behavoir doesn’t inspire anyone to greatness.

I considered this.
When the incident came out, I assumed that Matt would release a statement like this:
I’m sorry for what happened. I realize that my behavior is damaging to my family, my friends, and my teammates. I am immediately seeking drug abuse counseling and hope to resolve these demons.
Instead, we’ve gotten a “they weren’t his drugs” from his dad. People can be forgiven, but it’s all about taking the right tack from moment one. For him to survive the public spectacle of training camp, he needed to be a little more aggressive in looking remorseful. Remember, the guy is going to be in a very intimate environment during camp with fan access, can you imagine the boos and heckling he’ll receive? It will be a disaster for him.
Releasing him and getting him out of Jacksonville before he feels the full weight of the bitterness and disappointment directed at him is doing Matt Jones a favor.

NOT SURPRISING
I figured that he would try to take the easy way out. If your doing someone else’s coke your still doing coke. With the amount of money he makes this drug problem could get out of hand real fast. He takes us for fools to make such a statement, he should hire someone in P.R. not his dad to make his statements. It is just justifying more and more what an idiot Matt Jones really is.
