Manning The Beginning Of His End
Manning will not be the same player after he returns from surgery. This is a major surgery, that takes weeks to heal, and leaves lingering effects. Remember it was the same surgery that sidelined Marvin Harrison for most of the season last season. We are not even sure the complications involved in such a long lingering injury. Manning deciding to wait until there was no other option other than surgery, could have cost him dearly. I do not see Manning returning to the same form we once knew him as ever again.

Perhaps, but...
I actually he comes back full strength, for two reasons.
First, Peyton is one of the best QB’s of all time, and it’s always sad to see an injury take out someone of that caliber. (Images of Joe Theismann’s leg bone, anyone?)
Second, when the Jags sweep the Colts this year, I want the “can’t beat Peyton and the Colts” monkey to be taken out back and well and truly shot. If Peyton’s not 100%, we’ll keep hearing “the only way you can beat Manning is when he’s hobbled.”

Manning has had this problem for some time. Montana also had the same problem during some of his best seasons on his elbow.
Are you guys really going to sweep us this year? Really is this the year? Really? OMG I never have heard this.
Jags are going nowhere either with Del Rio. BTW how come I don’t here more about Porter going down twice in OTAs doing pretty much nothing? Hmmm…...

lol
Actually Manning did this after the last regular season game his senior year at Tennessee. He’s been through this before and it won’t cause any lingering issues.

Off topic:
Do you find that many Tennessee Vol’s became fans of the Colts after Manning went there? I mean this seriously, not in any sort of sarcastic way. Not that Matt Jones and Peyton Manning should ever be compared, but the influx of Arkansas fans that came over after he became a Jaguar was almost scary.
I guess my question is better put this way: What if the next program changing, Heisman winning quarterback from the Vol’s went to Jacksonville, what happens to the rooting interest?

Actually
I liked the Colts before Peyton went there. I’ve liked Indy since the early 90s. When I was a kid I had a Zefross Moss football card and for some reason I latched on to liking that particular team.
Even though I’m a Colts fan first and foremost, I like the Jags to do well when they’re not playing Indy. I did start cheering for them when Little Man Stewart played there.
There are quite a few Vols fans that cheer for Indy because of Peyton. I am so sorry that Arkansas fans migrated your way.

Ah, gotcha.
I imagine the Arkansas fans might be going somewhere else in a few days. Call it a hunch.

no doubt
So have both East Carolina fans become Jag fans with the emergence of Garrard? I assume most Arky fans have moved over to cheer for Oakland or Dallas by now…
Just curious, but what possessed you to cheer for Jacksonville and who did you cheer for before the team was there?

I "came of age" in Jacksonville
I was 11 when the Jaguars were awarded the team and my parents got season tickets for the first five years, so as I grew up with the team, I became a bigger fan.
Before the team was there, I was too busy being a kid to follow football. The Jaguar-fever that took over the city in 94/95 was infectious, and having tickets for so long embedded them in my head.
So there’s really nobody that I rooted for before the Jaguars existed.

It depends on geography.
Vols fans from eastern Tennessee were far more likely to become Colts fans than Vols fans from middle or western TN.

More wishful thinking. Maybe worry more about your own QBs injuries than ours? You guys have a history. Don’t invite bad karma now.
Manning has had this done before. This is a minor procedure. Actually the only issue is the incision healing.
I love how Jags fans think they won the division in July, as usual.
Some of you sound like Manning will run less…..yeah that would suck cause he runs so much anyway.

BTW
Genius.
Marvin’s knee ruptured and there was structural damage. Then he hurt his other knee.
And as a receiver it’s even worse.
Manning will feel better with this crap out of his knee, he has been playing with it for a while and also been wearing a brace. Nothing ruptured and no structural damage.
Yes he may have beaten the Jags gasp while hurt in the past.

The same thing was probably thought when Manning broke his jam and missed only one play way back when. lol

Oh please!
Hey HelloKitty, The colts may have beaten the Jags ‘gasp’ while 15 of our starters were hurt. Oh, and barely. Is that a broom I hear. The beginning of Peytons end is called a Harvey and Groves sandwich. MMM – MMM – Good! Won’t be the first time a Gator made him cry…..more like the fifth.

Ok Jags fans…this is the year, right? I mean, we have Manning, Sanders, Freeney, possibly Harrison all sitting out during training camp. So if the Jags are going to take the division, I would think this would be the year, right? How easy do you want the Colts to make it for them. Ok ok…how about we throw in Addai. If that doesn’t work by the first game then we will go with Reggie Wayne being hurt for the second. But that’s it…no more!! This has to be the year, right?

Colts Injuries
For all the Colts fans posting here, I truly hope all your injured players heal. I hope you have a terrific season. Why? Because I want to see what the Jags can do when the Colts are at the top. When we win, (whether it be in the postseason or regular season) I don’t want to hear you complaining and making up excuses that you were injured or that we couldn’t beat you when Manning was 100%. So send my best wishes to Manning and the team.

To be honest, I really do not like talking trash towards another team even though I just did previsouly. I think as a Colts fan, you have to respect each team in the league. The Jags have put together a well rounded team with some explosiveness to their offense. Obviously they have given the Colts fits for a while, but have yet to get over that hump. I would think though before any of you Jags fans start to guarantee a win, you would have at least won the division in the past over the Colts or have won the Super Bowl recently.

Winning
I never garenteed a win, and I don’t think anyone else did, but eventually the Colts will lose to the Jags. Whether it be in 1 or 10 years. But when it happens I want it to be against the full strength Colts. Not some team that lost all their players to injuries.
I simply want a great game with both teams at their best.

Whatever
Dude, give up talking to Colts fans. It’s like trying to talk about any other golfer in front of a Tiger fan. (for fun ask them what a birdie is…..they won’t know).
We could beat them the next 6 time and all they would say is , ” yeah but Peyton had surgery and Freeney was hurt and Sanders was recovering and Harrison was busy shooting people …and….and….and…
Let’s just enjoy our season and let them find a Colts website to bore themselves with.
