Finally laid to rest...
We can finally lay to rest the saga of Jason Taylor. Could the Jags have gotten him for the price the 'Skins paid? I'm sure we could have, but I'm very glad we have a solid combination of youth and veteran leadership in the DE spots.
ESPN.com is reporting that Jason Taylor has been traded to the Washington Redskins. The 'Skins lost one of their DE's in the first training camp practice and moved quickly to snap up Taylor. Miami received a 2nd round pick in 2009 and a sixth rounder in 2010. I'm glad this happened so it won't pop up again in rumor city. To read the rest of the article, click here.

Jason Taylor
Many people thought Jason Taylor was oging to the Jags, but I’m pretty sure most of that suspicion ended after the draft….
It’s a young guys game, and the Jags know it.

Amen brother.
In the long run the idea of getting Taylor will be a memory and hopefully, many years from now we will be putting Quentin’s name up on the ‘Pride’.

Missed Oppurtunity
I think we should have been in talks longer over this. Maybe he could have been a missing piece of the puzzle. And it wouldn’t have cost us anything this year.

Blame the Atlanta Falcons...
Had the Falcons not selected Matt Ryan, Jason Taylor would have been a Jag. Call it a hunch, but considering the DE options for the Jaguars in the late first round, using picks to get Taylor and then taken the BAP with the 26th pick seemed to be the plan.
But as soon as ATL grabbed Ryan and put the Ravens in a tailspin, Taylor was off the Jaguars radar.

I still don’t think Taylor would have been a Jag. Parcells was still demanding a 1st rounder by that point, and there was no way we would have traded that for Taylor.

I agree with John. And I couldn’t be happier with how the DE hunt went for us draft day.

Jason Taylor
I also agree, now we have all the talent we need in the future. We also have all the youth we need to keep this team in the hunt for years to come.

I want to see
how Taylor does with the Redskins. Something tells me he don’t do a whole lot to help their team. I predict maybe 4-6 sacks for Taylor this year. Also if you want to think what we would lose if we traded away our 2nd round pick don’t think Groves because he is still an unknown. Think Justin Durant or MJD. Would you still make the trade?

Nope
I wouldn’t make that trade.
Of corse MJD was a “steal” The other teams didn’t expect him to have the yards he has had.

Indy would have drafted him in the 2nd.
Can you imagine if the Jaguars had passed and the Colts had Addai AND Jones-Drew.
I’d cry.
