Fred Taylor Arrested??
I came across this article today, I definitely would have thought Fred Taylor would be the last person on the team to be arrested. I hope this doesn't throw him off at all this season.
The Miami Herald reports:
"Veteran Jacksonville Jaguars running back Fred Taylor was arrested outside of a Miami Beach nightclub early Saturday morning and charged with disorderly conduct.
Taylor was not taken to jail, according to Detective Juan Sanchez, a spokesman for the Miami Beach Police Department.
He was instead released outside of Club Cristal on Fifth Street on his own recognizance with a promise to appear in court.
The exact circumstances leading to Taylor's arrest weren't known on Sunday. The Miami Beach Police Department's records division, which provides police reports, is closed until Tuesday for the Labor Day weekend.
Taylor, a University of Florida alum, has been with the Jaguars his entire professional career and is preparing for his 11th season with the franchise. Last season, #28 Taylor rushed for 1,202 yards and five touchdowns."

I never thought he should get in either...
but it looks like it’s turning out like some of us may have thought. My first thought was, “that sure sucks but it sure doesn’t sound like Fred T.” And sure enough, it wasn’t and arrest, just a ticket. That’s more like it.

Horrible
I just hope everything turns out okay with this. I think we all know how how much Fred means to this team and the city of Jacksonville.

Check the facts
He was not actually arrested, booked, or released on bond. He basically got a ticket and an order to appear in court. We’ve all been out and had an altercation of sorts. It can happen to the best of us. Sometimes you’re just targeted by a drunken idiot, and you have to show him how weak and slow he is when he’s drunk. These things happen. You’re allowed to go out and have a good time every now and then. ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.’ Fred is still class. He’s a helluva guy. GO JAGS!

Disorderly
Just fending off a drunk will get you Disorderly if the bar calls and not you. It’s whoever calls first. If it’s the bar, then they blame both till someone proves otherwise in court.
That said, he will still get a butt chewin’ from JDR for being out at 4AM. JDR has said many times, there’s no reason for one of our players to be out that late, especially on the eve of the season.
It’ll turn out ok though. Fred will get a finger wag for being out late at a club, and since he was released on his own recognizance, I would guess he wasn’t drunk and belligerent. That probably bodes well for the court date. Nothing will come of this.
Poor Jimmy though. That sucks for him.
