Wow, look at the pressure.

I like what I’m seeing on our defensive line so far. This could be a LONG DAY for Schaub.

Short passes and running against 8 man fronts in Houston territory doesn’t make sense to me. I’ll take the FG, but sometime the Jags gotta go for the TD, especially with all their timeouts.

No wonder we're having trouble with the run

Vic is saying that he’s occassionally counting 9 men in the box to stop the run. That’s quite a committment to taking the run away from us. We’re gonna have to scare some of those guys back into coverage, IMO.

Im seriously disappointed in the play calling

The Jags should have come out running and stuck with it….if this game is a loss without the OC calling a whole lotta run plays in the second half, I blame the loss on Dirk Koetter…its obvious with the killer pass preotection that Garrard is getting that the passing game AINT HAPPENING

Some runs, some passes, imposing our will on the Texans. I’d say that’s what the Jaguars needed to do to start the process of putting this game away. A three and out here to followup would close the window awfully quick for Houston.

Yeah

.. as I said earlier, our defense seems unable to stop anyone. I don’t know what the problem is, but we are NOT convincing on defense. A shootout would be bad for us, but can we run the ball without an effective passing game?

by KeithG on Sep 28, 2008 2:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yea while we all bitched about Mike Smith’s defense being the same every play, atleast we always seemed to execute the assignments. Doesn’t even seem like we can do that right now.

by FSBlueApocalypse on Sep 28, 2008 2:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It’s official. This team has had a complete reversal from 2006. We’ve gone from a team that wins because our offense could kick more FGs to one that has to win shootouts

-John

D

Another question where is the D??? Our Offense is going to have to carry the load today.

by Jagz8 on Sep 28, 2008 2:53 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Our offense has had to carry the load all season. The D has completely wilted so far this season.

-John

by FSBlueApocalypse on Sep 28, 2008 2:53 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I disagree...

I think any game in which the defense holds the opponent under 21 points then the defense has done their job. Look at the inneptitude (sp) of our offense. When you’re punting and not scoring as much as we are, this just means the opponent has more opportunities to score. What do you want from our defense? Every game they have held under 21 points. Offense puts points up, we win.

by JirafaBo on Sep 28, 2008 2:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

17 points

may be a better goal for the defense, which still means they have been pretty close. What do you guys think?

by JirafaBo on Sep 28, 2008 3:03 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

While that’s valid, this defense has faltered all year when being handed a lead. As I said last week, Josh Scobee’s leg bailed the defense out of us having a 0-3 start.

How is that offsetting?

We lose a 25 yard pass play.

You would think...

even if they “offset”, then the play should stand.

by JirafaBo on Sep 28, 2008 3:29 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

It must be nice

to be a cornerback who never has to acknowledge any threat of a deep route. They are just sitting on all short routes.

We can't lose this game

The Jaguars have to realize that losing this game is realistically the worst thing that could happen. We have to keep pushing forward, the AFC South is wide open (Yeah, I don’t take the Titans seriously) and winning this week does wonders for our division race.

has to be a TD

How in the hell do they not cover that? I’m glad they’re inept, but that’s rough to have Garrard’s legs beat them twice…

Great Game, Fellas

Congrats on a clutch win. Would’ve loved to see it go the other way, of course, but the bottom line is that your boys made the plays when you needed to. Best of luck this season (except on 12/01/08).

Looking forward to a day when being a Texans fan doesn't mean that April is the highlight of my season...

I Wish I Knew

He seems like he’s become the second or third option in the passing game. When he is targeted, he looks like he’s going at half-speed. It ain’t good.
