Wow, look at the pressure.
I like what I’m seeing on our defensive line so far. This could be a LONG DAY for Schaub.

final possession
Jags need to run the ball and hopefully get in FG range before the half, the Offense has to be better today.
Vic said
There’s a lot of cloud cover yet all I see is blue skies when they show the stadium. Also, on the radio, they said there were no clouds. WTF vic.

I don't get it
Short passes and running against 8 man fronts in Houston territory doesn’t make sense to me. I’ll take the FG, but sometime the Jags gotta go for the TD, especially with all their timeouts.
FG good

No wonder we're having trouble with the run
Vic is saying that he’s occassionally counting 9 men in the box to stop the run. That’s quite a committment to taking the run away from us. We’re gonna have to scare some of those guys back into coverage, IMO.
He's sore.
Should be back next week.

awww poor baby. I mean we don’t need him anyways, just playing against two of the best receivers in the league.
I don't know Reggie that well...
But I’m pretty sure the only thing that keeps him on the bench is coaches orders. That homeboy is tough.
This is one of those "wow, it’s good to have Sensabaugh AND Williams.

Halftime sillyness
I understand him being out. Was just joking on his “soreness.”
I was expecting questions on “two best receivers.” LOL Andre Davis is a good receiver too.
Im seriously disappointed in the play calling
The Jags should have come out running and stuck with it….if this game is a loss without the OC calling a whole lotta run plays in the second half, I blame the loss on Dirk Koetter…its obvious with the killer pass preotection that Garrard is getting that the passing game AINT HAPPENING
Go Jags!
Actually Garrard has been getting some good protection. Its been against the run they’ve been getting dominated.

If Houston really is committing 9 in the box at times, I say we send Porter deep and see what happens. Nothing else the fact we actually call it could make them back up.

Not too shabby..
Some runs, some passes, imposing our will on the Texans. I’d say that’s what the Jaguars needed to do to start the process of putting this game away. A three and out here to followup would close the window awfully quick for Houston.

Yeah
.. as I said earlier, our defense seems unable to stop anyone. I don’t know what the problem is, but we are NOT convincing on defense. A shootout would be bad for us, but can we run the ball without an effective passing game?
Yea while we all bitched about Mike Smith’s defense being the same every play, atleast we always seemed to execute the assignments. Doesn’t even seem like we can do that right now.

by Jonathan Loesche on Sep 28, 2008 2:55 PM EDT up reply actions
It’s official. This team has had a complete reversal from 2006. We’ve gone from a team that wins because our offense could kick more FGs to one that has to win shootouts

D
Another question where is the D??? Our Offense is going to have to carry the load today.
Our offense has had to carry the load all season. The D has completely wilted so far this season.
-John
by Jonathan Loesche on Sep 28, 2008 2:53 PM EDT reply actions
I disagree...
I think any game in which the defense holds the opponent under 21 points then the defense has done their job. Look at the inneptitude (sp) of our offense. When you’re punting and not scoring as much as we are, this just means the opponent has more opportunities to score. What do you want from our defense? Every game they have held under 21 points. Offense puts points up, we win.
While that’s valid, this defense has faltered all year when being handed a lead. As I said last week, Josh Scobee’s leg bailed the defense out of us having a 0-3 start.
