The Band that Wouldn't Die
So, I just watched ESPN's "The Band that Wouldn't Die" and there were a few things that came to mind.
1) I would really love to see this widespread love and respect for the Jags in this city one of these days; that whole city seemed wholly committed, where as today I had at least 3 people ask me why I was wearing a jags hat today because they lost horribly and would be moving soon. There is not enough support in this city for our team, especially considering we have had a relatively high winning percentage since our inception. No team wins every game in every season.
2) Did anyone else notice that all the comments made referred to the Baltimore fans being so hurt by the SECOND expansion announcement?!? For those of you that don't know the Jacksonville Jaguars were the second announcement; no mention at all was made about the Carolina Panthers expansion announcement even though they were very close in time. Maybe I am just reading too much into this but I found it odd and somewhat directed towards us.
3) Finally, I do not want to be one of these sad and hurt people one of these days. I really hope people start to realize that the Jaguars situation is serious and we cannot ignore it forever; teams leave eventually. I know, and honestly hope, that there are teams like the Chargers, Rams, and Vikings, that need new homes as well. But these Baltimore fans lived by their colts; I really wish I could meet more Jags fans that feel that way instead of those around me constantly talking about "the move" part II.
PS I was interested to read that Irsay had at one time shopped the colts to the city of Jacksonville; it is a small world.

I agree i have people come up to me all the time after a jags lose and say “Man how can you even wear that right now” …..Cause im a REAL fan that sticks by his team we need more people that stick by the team come hell or high water. not wishy washy fans that go to the games as a social gathering

Time will cure all
I think the younger generation has the potential to save this team, but in the mean time those wishy washy fans need to step up and buy tickets. I was shocked by some of the comments on Ron Littlepage’s article on jacksonville.com (which I thought the column was highly inappropriate coming from a guy that doesn’t attend games). What’s going on with people?
Ignore the hype; look at the results.

1 big difference
I saw the show and thought how sad it was to take all that history out of Baltimore. The 1 big difference is Baltimore was lucky to get another team. Jacksonville will never get another team if the Jaguars leave town.
