The Jaguars look go get back to .500 against the winless Rams. Rams QB Marc Bulger returns, but Steven Jackson is the gears that makes the Rams offense go. Keep all talk of the trade rumors involving Quentin Groves and Mike Sims-Walker here
[Note by River City Rage, 10/18/09 11:14 AM EDT ] Michael Wright tells us that Del Rio will start the "healthiest five" on the offensive line. According to Wright, that means C Brad Meester, LG Vince Manuwai, LT Eugene Monroe, RG Uche Nwaneri and RT Eben Britton will be the starters. Coincidentally, that's my preferred grouping.

Glad to woke up from my looong sunday night...

Go ahead and scratch safety Sean Considine, linebacker Justin Durant, cornerback Scott Starks, and offensive lineman Maurice Williams out of today’s action.
All are actually healthy enough to play today against St. Louis, but Jags coach Jack Del Rio said the club would like to hold out them out because they’d only "come out worse" by participating. Del Rio said the only way you’ll see Considine, Durant, Starks or Williams today is if the club finds itself in some type of emergency situation due to other injuries. Look for Brian Iwuh to start today in Durant’s place.You’re probably wondering what the deal is with the offensive line. At this point, it’s tough to say, but I‘ve got a pretty good idea. Del Rio told me Friday night that the Jags would start the "healthiest five" offensive linemen today. Based on that (Williams and Tra Thomas are the only o-linemen that were on the injury report this week) I’m pretty certain the Jags start C Brad Meester, LG Vince Manuwai, LT Eugene Monroe, RG Uche Nwaneri and RT Eben Britton. When Del Rio says stuff like "healthiest five" he WANTS you to read into his exact wording. So I’m pretty sure the guys I listed earlier are today’s starters.
So no Durant once again…
