Holt showed his veteran leadership traits in the fourth quarter. Immediately after Leonard Little intercepted a Garrard pass and returned it for a touchdown to give the Rams a 17-13 in the fourth quarter, Holt called the offensive unit together on the sideline.
"I just did what I thought a leader should do," Holt said. "It was a perfect time for them to be called up and talked to about what we needed to do in order to win the ball game. If we want to be an elite team, a championship team, we have to execute in critical times. That’s basically what I told them."
The Jaguars responded to Holt’s words by putting together a 9-play, 75-yard drive to reclaim the lead. Garrard especially appreciated Holt’s action.
"The quarterback doesn’t always have to do those things," Garrard said. "To have somebody like that here, I’ve been telling you all along, it’s great and this offensive team needs it. I’m very happy for Torry and what he did.

I actually noticed that yesterday. It’s nice to have that kind of veteran leadership on the team. I hope that Holt can stick around for another year.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Definitely
I also like Garrard’s attitude about it. You just know that some QB’s in the league would feel threatened by it…

I think Gene has hit on more players in his one year
than Shack did in his entire tenure here.

I didn't do any counting... just off the top of my head.
I just don’t remember anyone other than MJD, and I guess we need to include MSW now that I’m thinking about it., that Shack brought in that was a true winning pick.
And while the jury is still out on the OT’s, picks 3,4 & 5 are already proving to be better than anyone I remember Shack drafting. And Holt is better than any F/A he brought in that I can think of.

There's also
Vince Manuwai, and possibly Uche. Durant and Ingram were nice picks too.
