IMHO the state of the Jaguars after 6 games

The state of the jaguars after 6 games is right where it needs to be. We are not an elite team yet [any way). We are not the doormats either. What we are is a young up and coming team. We will be inconsistence for a while due to growing pains. Yes we can expect the occasional blowout, by us and to us. When our growing pains are done we will have very good team maybe even elite. This years draft is the foundation for great things to come. We hit home runs with our first four draft picks and the remainder of the class is getting significant playing time. Our free agents this year are both teaching and leading our rookies this year. Gene Smith first year as general manager has shown remarkable improvement on the Team. He has gotten rid of players who do not want to play and were cancers to our team last year. He gave Fred Taylor the chance to get his ring instead of keeping him around another year or two. The proof of how well this team is going to be will be next year. The draft should help us fill a few more of the holes we have. Right now the jaguar’s arrow is pointing up and should remain there for quite a few years.

We can make the playoffs

Right now if we straighten out the pass defense. We’ve got offensive firepower and we stop the run as well as anybody.

Dont judge this team next year

Lets judge in 3 or 4 years, after Gene’s first draft is developed and we have other drafts. But im very optomistic. Love this team

Barring

an insane amount of career ending injuries(Knock on wood), I think Gene obviously had a good draft.

I don’t see either Britton or Knighton regressing, and even they don’t improve much at all they were still at least decent picks. As it were I expect all of them to improve, in particular Monroe and Derek Cox.

I agree

I also believe it will take 3-4 years to totally install the culture that Gene is looking to bring. He has IMHO done an A+ job the first year in getting rid of Cancers and hitting on his draft picks. I can only imagine this team if we get 3-4 years of that skill of picking FA and drafting 4 starters. WOW

in 3-4 years peyton will retire or be bad enough that the Colts will be much easier to contend with

I can see the Texans and us fighting it out.

It wll become easier

If Gene continues the trend he has started we should contend each and every year. That usually produces divisional wins. Just ask the Steelers

If we could

just get a pass rush this team could be one of the most dominant in the league.

I firmily beleive that our next draft class will get our pass rush much needed help

Even if there are

pass rushers out there, BAP means we may or may not draft any of them.
