4 Jags Players in Top 3 in "Who's Hot" Fantasy Rankings!

I can honestly say that this has to be the  first time I've ever seen more than 2 players making these honors in any single game.  When I logged on to Yahoo Sports, there it was in living color... David Garrard listed as the Hottest Fantasy QB of this weeks games...followed by Mike Sims-Walker ranked #2 in the WR category.  After searching even further I discovered that Marcedes Lewis ranked # 3 in TE, and Josh "Pigskin Bombardier" Scobee ranked first in the kickers slot.  Holy CRAP...

I perused further into the depths of Yahoo Sports' depravity to discover this gem by MJD in the Shutdown Corner  titled " Week 4 MVP's" :

"Mike Sims-Walker(notes), Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars. I'll admit to being shocked by yesterday's result in the Titans/Jags game. I thought the Titans had some fight in them, and I didn't think the Jags were capable of beating a team through the air like that. David Garrard(notes) threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns, and Sims-Walker was his favorite target. He caught seven balls for 92 yards and two touchdowns."

Now I don't know about you, but for me to see the Jags get that much respect is a welcome sight.  Let me be the first to admit I've jumped on the "no respect" bandwagon ala the national sports media as it relates to the Jags, but I've always felt that the Jags have to earn that respect as well.  It appears that the game against the Titans has opened a few eyes, namely because the Jags went about their business in a quiet, methodical and dominating manner.

They neither looked for, nor sought glory in this win.  None of the post-game interviews had even an inkling of hype or self-promotion.  It was all about the team and working together to improve and just get the job done.

Winning with humility...what a concept!

I believe that magic happened in this game, and it may only be Hogwart's level one type magic, but magic none the less.  This is a beginning, a harbinger of doom for future opponents (for years to come) if you will.  This is the "walk" part of the cliche that you "must learn to walk before you can run".  Now we must change the paradigm to learn to "run before you can fly"

"Wingardium Levioso"  anyone?

Please

staying on the ground.
Yes, it is good we kicked some butts yesterday, but we have 12 mostly very hard games ahead of us, including a very hard roadtest against the Seahawks.

Thanks for the news although.

Sorry Zoltan but i think you're too worried about that game

Jaguars trump all, except when they get trumped themselves. Seahawks are nothing w/o Hassellback, even then they are just decent

Thanks

I hope that what I wrote doesnt come across as indicating that I believe that we have found the answer, the Holy Grail so to speak. I believe that this is the first solid step toward greatness
with this team. You gotta learn to “walk” first..and the Jags are showing that. Walk then run, run then “fly”…gonna take awhile unless the Jags over-achieve this year.

I think our team is over-achievers by nature

If we reached the playoffs all bets are off and let the floodgates open.

I like it but in all honesty it isn't respect

It is simply reporting facts. The Jaguars put on an offensive show. I just wish MSW hadn’t dropped the one touchdown, David didn’t fumble the other away and we didn’t screw up the half-time FG. We could have hung 50 points on them. It was an over the top day.

Well sometimes we arent even lucky to get "just the facts" reported in the past.

Speaking of fantasy football, Broncos D/ST, 49ers D/ST, or Bills D/ST? I currently have Bengals D/ST, and Green Bay is on a bye week. Also, dropping Percy Harvin in lieu of Rashard Mendenhall or Steve Smith (NYG) or Fred Jackson, any thoughts?

Fred Jackson I like

I like 49ers D/ST

& would probably drop GB D/ST for them.

Ended up with Broncos D, Mike Sims-Walker.

Mendenhall and Steve Smith were taken through waver order, and I’m not confident about 49ers D matched up against Atl this weekend. If 49ers hold them, I’ll pick them up next week. However, I like Green Bay’s match-ups against Det, Cle, and TB, so we’ll see how that goes.
