Jaguars Least Favorite Team

According to Harris Interactive, the Jaguars are America's least favorite team.  We've been at the bottom for 4 out of the last 5 years and honestly, I was not shocked at all by this.  At least I can say I never jumped on the bandwagon!

Fun Fact: in 1999 the Colts were the 27th most popular team, ten years later they are number 4 and have been as high as 2.  If you win, they will come.

Most of the country doesn't know they are here

We have done nothing to gain attention. An AFC Championship game a long time ago is nothing compared to Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Chicago or Cleveland history.

We don’t exist and wouldn’t be missed.

That's why

I think, the Jaguars are in danger until a Superbowl win. After that, well they will be safe!

I like the Jags.

And you have likeable guys on your team, I hated Stroud because he owned us. But I would’nt take too much notice of these ratings.

I have to say

That was one of the dumbest polls I’ve ever seen. It was made up of 2300 people. We may not be the most popular teams in the league but at least we’ve won a few playoff games in the last 13 years unlike a certain popular team I know of.

punking Denver in year 2 of our existence - simply doesn't get any sweeter

the 62 – 7 beatdown of the fish was a close 2nd for me though – send Marino out of the NFL with a serious ass kickin (same for Jim Kelly)!!!!

In the Hungarian site

there was a voting by the members not so lately about the Jaguars in the following cathegories-We doing it on every team of the NFL):
Face of the franchise(Active player on the roster)
Man of the franchise(player who retired already, and was the best player of the team in the past)
Momentum of the franchise (the biggest event of the team so far)
+bonus person of the franchise-owner, coach etc

At the Hungarian site the result were these:
Face of the franchise(Active player on the roster)
1. Maurice Jones-Drew (36 vote)-my vote was MJD also
2. John Henderson, Rashean Mathis (6-6)
3. David Garrard (2)

Man of the franchise(player who retired already, and was the best player of the team in the past)
Jimmy Smith(22)
Tony Boselli (11)-I voted for Tony
Some there mentioned Fred- if he would be aviable in this voting, he would won it by a mile…

Now comes the interesting part

Momentum of the franchise (the biggest event of the team so far
Dan Marino’s last game (62-7 playoff win) 8 vote-including mine
4 playoff apperance in the first 5 years; beating the Steelers twice in ‘07-(4-4)
Beating Denver at the Old Mile High in 1996 playoffs, Week 3 game in 2008 (3-3)
So Marino’s last game, the Steelers beating in ’07 is the heritage of this team
(I miss from this list the 375 rushing yard game against Indy in ’06)

And person of the franchise
Surprise for me-Jack Del Rio 22 vote!!!
Tom Coughlin (4 vote)
Gene Smith (3 vote-including mine)
You can see all the team results so far here:

for me

I’d agree with MJD
for non-active Jaguars member I’d choose Mark Brunell
Then I probably do Gene

Our greatest victory was our very first game.

Beat cowgurls, and gave Jerry Jones an idea for copying our stadium. Kinda been all downhill from there.
