Keeping the Jags here in Jax

I know that this is a tired old theme, but it's never really been addressed by the team or the City. Re-creating Touchdown Jacksonville is a nice touch, but is that really the answer? I think that I just read the best overview of the problems that the team and the city have - check it out at www.ijax.com under the weekly curmudgeon section, whatever that is.
We need to get serious in saving the Jaguars organization from itself!

Ridiculous. Yet another person that just doesn’t get it.

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

+1

The ijax piece was written by an idiot, and a racist one at that.

Exactly. I almost commented on the racism myself, but decided to give the idiot the benefit of the doubt.

OMG!!!!

I cannot believe that such an ignorant, racist rant even got posted there at iJax!
1) “Hire folks that I can identify and identify with”
One of the most racist comments I have ever read.
Stupidity factor: (out of 100)= 150

2) “Create a funny and not desperate advertising campaign – nothin sells like laughter!”
I could spend hours on this, but let me sum my thoughts up this way…..There are ONLY two distinct groups of adults living here in our fair city. 1.Group- Those who have no interest in NFL football whatsoever. NO amount of marketing will convert non-believers into believers, with the possible exception of peer pressure to give the the NFL Experience a chance (see idiotic complaint #3). 2.Group- Those who are familiar with the NFL, and have an interest in it, in some fashion. This group ALREADY knows we are one of the choice few cities in the US to have a team. This group is ALREADY exposed to coverage of the Jaguars in print, radio exposure, internet etc. This group ALREADY has made a decision to not attend games based on their own personal situation. Marketing will not change their own personal circumstances, “laughter” or not.

3) “Make the game-going experience fun”
“8 bucks for a beer and 12 bucks for a burger ain’t fun at a game”
Where have you been? Apparently, nowhere. Have you been to a movie lately? A museum? A National Monument? A music festival? An Arts festival? A Symphony recital? TPC? A minor league baseball game? Concessions are ALWAYS expensive! Jaguars tickets are some of the least expensive in the entire league!
So is the parking! So are the bus rides! How about having the BEST overall traffic experience of all the NFL stadiums?
We have flyovers! How many other teams do?
We have the NFL’s best mascot in Jaxson DeVille! How many other NFL teams have a mascot?
We have the “Roar”! How many other NFL teams have cheerleaders?

4) "Build and new facility " (sic)
“Hell yes, let’s make some sort of rockstar stadium that does all sorts of neat things… but only seats 50,000 for the regular Jags games. Hell, if we did that, we might even have a waiting list”
The “Jack” has among the fewest, if not the fewest number of general bowl seats required to sell to avoid a blackout. It is among the nicest facilities, and the upgrades have kept it among the nicest. I’m sure someone like this idiot will suddenly buy season tickets if we get a new stadium. We only need sell 50,000 general bowl tickets NOW to avoid blackouts, with the stadium we have.

5) “….the Jags will have packed up and moved somewhere else, like Canada or Mexico.”
I have no words for this one.

Never been to ijax.com before...

…and never going again. Apparently that site has no connection with intelligence.

That article was absurd and way off point. I suggest other BCC readers to join in the boycott, as that’s not how we plan to help save the Jags.

Never goin again either...

I’m close to shutting this thread down… I can see this getting potentially ugly… Forget that racist piece of trash, that was a terribly crafted article.

My dog

Can catch and tackle. He had football aspirations when he was young. He doesn’t get the Jaguars either…or the NFL for that matter. The only player he can relate to is the Eagles’ Brent Celek. He’s a speciesist. I apologize for that. He’ll sleep outside tonight, maybe that’ll teach him some tolerance.

It never ceases to amaze me,

just how much lame crap people will come up with as thier won way to save the Jaguars.
The article was written by just another ignorant sh*t who just doesnt get it. My personal opinion is that the Jaguars made a great decision to get rid of Harris. On top of that, I think they did a smart thing not buying their way out of blackouts. I dont think the Jaguars have or should have had to do anything else for the fans. They offer a quality product and apparently there are an awful lot of people from Jacksonville Florida that just do not get that point. One way or another the point will be made. Buy the tickets or just say Bye.

Jags an come here.

I Love the Jags win or lose. I was born in Jax and have rooted for and supported them from the beginning. If they leave JAX they can come here to Los Angeles where we are building a new stadium only 20miles from my house. If the peoplethere in Fla. don’t appreciate them, well what can I say?

Be careful with statements like that

round these parts. haha

I hope that if they do move somewhere it is LA. I would much appreciate them being here. They belong in JAX tho.

I'd stop right there

My patience is running out on comments like these.
