Mathis to have MRI, may miss time

It what can only be described as bad news, Jack Del Rio said in today's press conference that Rashean Mathis will undergo a MRI on his groin tomorrow and is expected to miss time. If he does miss time the *gulp* Reggie Nelson will once again start at corner opposite Derek Cox.

More on this as it develops.

Yikes

That’s a scary thought. How about Starks or Brackenridge at corner?

I don't think it has anything

to do with being small. It was a soft tissue injury, which is probably less common amongst smaller players.

The scary thing ...

… is being without Rashean going against both T.O. and especially Lee Evans, who always seems to kill us. But everyone is dealing with injuries, and Reggie will play corner a lot better than he did the first time with the experience he’s had since.

I kind of want to see what Brackenridge can do.

I hope Him and Nelson can get the job done.

+1

Nelson at CB scares me more than Will James did last year.

Not me

Will James had been playing CB for years. That was Nelson’s first chance as a starter.

me too

I really prefer Brackenridge – I realize he may not be able to run with guys on the deepest routs, but I’m sure we can get him some help over the top.

He was good enough for me during preseason.

There goes the neighbourhood

I would love to see Brackenridge in there as CB, we all have seen what Nelson can do, which is allow recep. and TD. Hell, he is barely able to play well at FS (he has improved there though)

How about this matchup

Middleton on Evans. Yeah we’ll be weak there, but we can roll coverage to that side if the match up is good enough on the other side. And I think Derek can probably keep TO under wraps. And because they probably go 3 wide a lot, use Brackenridge against their third wr, who is usually tall but young: Stevie Johnson, James Hardy, Shawn Nelson. If however Reed or Parrish are the third receiver change everything. Derek on Evans, Middleton on third receiver, and Tyron on TO. I know Smith kind of served as NB last week, but he doesn’t have the quickness that Middleton does. But who knows. I haven’t seen either that much. Maybe Smith will be the SS making Considine the FS and Nelson the NB/CB.

I have the cure against T O and Evans

The B9ills can’t stop the run right? Tgen Jaguars must go back to the loooooooooooooong 8+ minutes drive with MJD; Jennings; and sometimes with small passes!

We can still beat the Bills

but we definitely need him back for Houston and Indy!
