The Jaguars will scout UF for the 5th time this season, easily the most of any team in the country.

The Jaguars will scout UF for the 5th time this season, easily the most of any team in the country.

UPDATE: The Jaguars will also be present at the San Diego State/Utah game.

Chris Steuber of Scout.com is reporting the Jaguars will have scouts in attendance at the following games

Nicholls St @ SE Louisiana

Florida International @ Florida

Minnesota @ Iowa

This marks the 5th time the Jaguars have had scouts attend a UF game, the most of any college team. The only team the Jaguars have had scouts present more than twice is FSU, which the Jaguars have seen three times.

This will be the second time the Jaguars have scouted Iowa, while this will be their first look at every other team. What players do you think they'll have their eyes on this week?

In the first game I'd imagine they're looking at Tyson Andrus

He’s a CB for Nicholls State. 6’0" 180 lbs. with a 4.5 40 time.

He’s projected by most to be a middle round draft pick.

Yeah interesting

Second week in a row the Jags will be at a backwater game

Which we have a habit of finding.

Mmhmm. I'm working right now on a table of all the games the Jags have been to and what player(s) they were looking at.

Team we seem to like
Iowa
Ole Miss
USF
FSU
UF
Arkansas St
All of them have had a minimum of 2 visits from the Jags

You're assuming they're looking at both teams in all of this

If this is the second trip to an Iowa game, they’re scouting a Hawkeye. Maybe a Minnesota player too, but the odds are they’re just watching the Iowa guy(s).

Same can be said for Florida. I really doubt they’re interested in a Florida International player as this is their 5th UF game.

As for the backwoods game with Nicholls State-SE Louisiana, they’re probably only looking at one player seeing as this game is not full of talent all over the place. I just picked the best player out of both teams and that’s probably Tyson Andrus.

well, and i'm just thinking out loud

If i were at a game in which there was a player I have scouted and another that i hadn’t. I’d still watch the one I scouted, because I’d be at that game and it would make sense to continue scouting.

yeah

Now that it seems like the 4-3 is the best fit. A little depth and competition at the 4-3 LB area would be alright.

Like Carlos Dunlap

I hope that’s who they’re looking at.

by SoCalStites on Nov 18, 2009 4:49 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Dunlap is overrated

Way too raw and wouldn’t be a factor at all as a rookie.

Jermaine Cunningham on the other hand. Although he’s a LDE, he’s much more polished

I agree

The best Florida DE is Cunningham.

Yeah

Cunningham would be a great third, if somehow he slipped that low.

ricky stanzi

dude was/is hot this year…….

by mijags on Nov 18, 2009 6:30 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

well He's on IR i believe after the Northwestern game

I also think i heard him saying he’d stay for another year.

I think Stanzi has a couple “decision making problems” like throwing 5 INTs in 1 game.

Okay. Let's all admit it...

They took the first three UF games they watched just for Tebow. Then they realized they had forgot to scout the defense, and thus two more visits. :P

by alwaysforgiven821 on Nov 18, 2009 9:24 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I’m guessing much of the UF game will be devoted to watching Brandon Spikes, Carlos Dunlap, Joe Haden, Jermaine Cunningham, Aaron Hernandez, Riley Cooper, and the Pouncey twins.

by Kbot on Nov 19, 2009 1:53 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Nah forget about those guys

We’re gonna trade all our picks away to move up to #1 overall and take Tebow. We don’t need to look at anyone else.

by SoCalStites on Nov 19, 2009 1:55 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I’d say we trade up to -4th overall and draft Tebow, but he might be gone by then, with Al Davis trading his immortal soul to draft -5th. Jermaine Cunningham, on the other hand, would probably be there in the second or third. Honestly, where we’re probably drafting, Haden, Spikes, and Aaron Hernandez are the most likely as far as UF players are concerned.

Thats insanity :)

Stay on our spot

No trade ups; Oakland or Washington take Tebow; Gene can pick his guys (maybe he will have extra picks until that)=Jaguars will be a REAL playoff contender next year; with a much tougher schdule!

Jack is pretty much safe

If he wins this weekend he will finish at least 7-9 (Browns is an almost certain W). I think thew Jags will be at 9-7 just like in 2004…(2003;2008: 5-11); 2004; 2009(?)(9-7) 2005; 2010 (12-4?) Hm…

If it were me,

I’d be looking at Joe Haden or Aaron Hernandez.

Either of them would be great. Spikes would also be good, but I don’t think we’ll be in a position to take him. (hopefully).
