Thats

The last thing we are missing… swag. Remember a few years back when we had a top 5 defense; this team had swagger. All great teams have it man, we can get it with some more wins, and maybe adding a few vocal guys in the off-season.

Steelers and Denver have easier schedules

Miami has a brutal schedule and won’t finish above .500

Denver has KC twice and Oakland.

Houston isn’t finished with us yet. After two tough games (Jets and Bills) we fly out west then return for the Texans. That is the easy part.

We are heading into the teeth of our schedule. We are not there yet.

DEN also has

NYG, @IND and @PHI. They have to win 1 of those 3 to get to 10 wins.

Though winning 10 isn’t a lock for us either. I just hope we win this week to keep this dream alive.

For Denver getting to 9 wins looks easier than it does for us.

We have SF, Cleveland and Miami as lower tier.
They have KC, KC, Oak
Pittsburgh has Oak, Cle, and Miami

We have the toughest road to nine wins. Our tenth has to come from Houston, Indy or New England.

If we get there, we have earned it.

Houston won't get to 10 this year

Unless something really lights them up.

I don't see 9 wins being enough and I don't see

HOU, MIA or BAL getting to 10 wins, unless BAL sweeps PIT in which case PIT might not get to 10 wins.

I certainly don’t think 10 wins is easy and I’ll be happy if we just win this week and I can still be dreaming of the playoffs in December.

No way we beat HOU or IND if Mathis is still sidelined.

I don't think 9 is enough for most teams

But we have a lot of tiebreakers in our favor, so it could be for us.

Regardless, 10 is what we need to get to.

Here's a good breakdown

http://www.playoffstatus.com/nfl/jaguarswhatif.html

If the Jaguars finish 10-6, they have an 89% chance of getting in.
If they finish 9-7, they have a 39% chance.

by Adam Stites on Nov 24, 2009 1:36 PM EST up reply actions

I agree, but to get to 10 wins you have to get to 9 first

YES; That true

I think Colts can be a W; if the Colts clinch the AFC until then….

So I stuck with what I said

these 3 gmes will define the seson:
It will be either an 8-8 season(our basic goal)
Or the playoffs(dream scenario)

BUT I have an interesting option:
WHAT IF the Colts Clinch AFC home field advantage until Week 15? Will they risk to play 100% aghainst us in the full game; or is that possible that they let us win; and kick a stronger team out of the playoffs?
What do you think BCC?

A lessen from our arch nemis the Titans

They started sluggish but they look like they are going to finish strong. The Jags need to take a lesson from this. Nobody will remember the team for how they started but it will be how we finish that defines what our image.

10 wins

its exciting that we are even talking about the possibility of having a 10 win season with the total overhaul we did in the locker room.

The more I think about it

The more I think the Steelers could implode.

Is it possible Denver and Jacksonville become the wild card teams?

How would Houston feel? How would the Steelers feel? How would Miami feel? Wow, what a development that would be.

Denver is going the wrong way

I think they have the worst chances right now out of the wild card competitors. They’ve lost 4 in a row and haven’t really even been competitive.

by Adam Stites on Nov 24, 2009 3:53 PM EST up reply actions

I agree.

Denver is not a great team. They were playing way way way over their heads at the beginning of the season, and its finally catching up to them now. I wouldn’t be surprised to see their freefall continue.

I think the Steelers are still too good not to make the playoffs. The Jags have as good a shot as anyone else to grab the other WC spot. Should be a fun last month and a half of the season!

Sometimes the impossible can become possible if you're AWESOME!
