Jaguars Claim Safety Anthony Smith Off Waivers
Well, Gene Smith continues to show his dissatisfaction toward our safety play, as he acquired the former Rams Safety Anthony Smith off of waivers. Gene is trying to fix the safety spot as the season progresses, with other teams' cast-offs.

Didn't he call out Brady
Isn’t this the guy that said Brady was overrated or something when he played for the Steelers in 07? I’ve never seen a guy get burnt in one game as he did, Brady and Hoodie were targeting and destroying this guy….oh boy
Coach Crennel, if all of your Coors Lights can talk what happens when you open your fridge? There's generally "Hoopla" involved.

Ummm
So we’ve taken a safety who wasn’t good enough for the lions, and now a safety who wasn’t good enough for the rams? This is disturbing.

One that wasn't good enough for the Lions...
plays better than the one drafted #1 by the Jaguars… now THAT is disturbing.

Good point
Although Reggie has had the odd decent game here and there (obviously not last week).

That would be my guess
if we were going to cut a safety. I think Russell is supposed to be a special team guy. Just so happens the injuries required him to play.

I saw him
pull up lame when trying to chase Chris Johnson from behind. Was it his hammy?

NM...Just read
that it was his hammy.
Funny, after last weeks game I thought Anthony Smith could be a possibility after he got cut.

What gives???
NFL just said Starks was going to be “active(hamstring)”.

I wouldn't say Gene is trying to "fix" the position with these moves - only the draft / FA can do that
No – this is stop gap and a desparate attempt to find anybody that can play better than the garbage we have.

Atleast he is trying.
These guys he keeps bringing in will in the very least be hungry to prove themselves in the first game they play in. I know that isnt very comforting because they will probably suck by the next game but atleast we can hopefully get one good game out of them. Gene knows that he has a lot of work ahead of him to right the ship but he will “get er done” so to speak.

Anthony Smith
Smith never played for the lions. He played for the Steelers, Packers was cut on final cut day and the Rams so maybe he is better than we through maybe not

Gerald Alexander played for the Lions... that's who they were referencing when saying a player who wasn't good enough for the Lions.

Hello. I just come over from Dawgs by Nature and I come in peace. I was loking for info on Anthony Smith and I found you guys had just acquired him. Anthony is a good guy and you should not belive every thing you hear, esspecially from todays media.
Back when his comment about the Patriots got blown way out of proportion, no one asked about how the young saftey was baited by a reporter. He didn’t call out Brady. It was when the Patriots where going for the undefeted season and the reporter asked him if he thought they could beat the Patriots and he basically said yes. Then the reporter asked for a guarentee and he said ok i garentee it. Pretty naive of him cuz it caused them to go after him. He was filling for and injured Palamalu, I belive and his inexperience showed.
I know this cuz i talked to him after the season. He’s form my home town of Hubbard, Ohio. He a great person and comes from a good family of modest means. He has worked very hard to get to where he’s at and I wish him the best success.
So now with your permission, I am a Jaguars fan making them my #2 team. And if you guys don’t want him I’ll gladly take him on the Browns seeing as we need all the help we can get. ( I would hate to do that to him though)
Fooootball has been beary beary good to me.

Welcome into the collective.
Any memories of past Browns-Jaguars Divisonal rivalries has faded.

Thanks:) Trust me when I say that we fans of the Browns are under no illusions as to how bad our team is. But we still love them and support them all the same and continue to hope for better.
