3. Well they would either play the game short players, or forfeit that upcoming game assuming they couldn’t make the required transactions before the game. (Put people on IR and sign new players.) As for the rest of the season, they would eventually sign some new players to finish out the season. They could also file for an roster exemption if an over abundant amount of players are predicted to return before the finish of the season, basically expanding the roster momentarily. This is what I gather from the situation that was happening with certain teams having problems with the swine flu.
