Signing 18 guys is a feat unto itself

Hopefully we’ll get another 3 guys who can contribute next year, especially if we don’t recoup some of the picks in this year’s draft.

I'd be curious ...

as to other UFA’s throughout the league. Any team have more than 5? Any making more of an impact than Allen and Williams?

Also, I’ve seen some on this site proclaim Newton our center of the future. What gives anyone that much confidence in him at this point?

We don't have anybody else

I've seen him play

He’s the perfect build for the center position. He’s decently strong. Good hieght and arm length. He’s smart having gone to Tennessee State.
Check out his bio: Four-year letterman … Part of an OL that led the conference in rushing for two consecutive seasons … Blocked for 1,000-yard rusher the last three seasons … Graded out an average of 90 percent per game as a senior with 30 knockdown blocks and did not give up a sack … Had 24 pancake blocks with 40 knockdowns as a junior, giving up only four sacks … Named first-team All-OVC as a sophomore … Majored in business administration.
The guy has good mobile feet, good anchor, and most importantly he doesn’t make mistakes.

Cecil plays a nice game

He’s my predicted starter at Center in the future.

Allen has shot to start next year

if Ingram won’t comeback next year-and we don’t draft Spikes…

That's a pretty successful class of UDFA's

You can’t expect to get stars, much less starters, from the UDFA class. Getting a future starter and several contributors (along with some practice squad guys) is successful when compared to the investment made in these guys.

Nice job GM Gene.

Allen is a great find

but so are all rookies. Love the team this year, am curious to see what we find using the gene talent detector next year. With the way they are playing, we won’t have to worry about another holdout and whomever it is will contribute early on.

Does anyone know what happened to Rob Meier?

Yes I know he wasn’t a rookie (lol) but he kinda disappeared

Got hurt

then put on IR. He’s not coming back next year.
