On his feet, behind the pile. When a guard is on their feet behind the pile on a running play, no matter what the design, they screwed up.

The Day we find a better guard is the day we don’t get stuffed three times on the goalline.

hey bestjagfan… not disagreeing with you or anything bad, but could you explain your "… when a guard is on his feet… " statement?… maybe it’s too early over here, but i can’t figure it out… mucho thanks

Yeah

Vince is on his feet behind the pile. I see he is out of the play here. Its a power formation, because Jordan Black is in, so its like a tackle over but you still have a tackle on the left side as well. Vince first gets driven into the backfield in the first few slides. It appears as if he eventually beats his man, because 96 disappears. But he still ended up in the backfield in the first place. Even a tackle on the side away from the ball shouldn’t end up in the backfield, so a guard has no excuse. It worked out fine there, but more often than not his man will make a tackle in the backfield, or screw up the running backs vision. Guards should always be down the field blocking.

No problem man, we all help each other out on here.
