DIRK NEEDS TO GO!!!!

Lets all face it, DIRK SUCKS!!! Don't give me those oh the players aren't playing hard enough, b/c they are. Dirk has been making terrible calls ALL season and its time he gets his walking papers. His use of Maurice Jones Drew has been terrible, our third down conversion this game has been TERRIBLE. Miami isn't that good, and before someone comments it, yes Miami beat the Pats, but the Pats lost that game, Miami didn't win it.

Not just Dirk

Vince, Brad, and Uche should be cut tomorrow. They are all garbage.

And

It’s time for them to depart. The only thing that matters is they suck now.

Uche isn't that bad though

Brad and VInce, yes, but Uche’s arrow is still pointing up.

Word

Uche is up and coming. I was just talking about Meester and Vince “Oops, I wiffed again” Manuwai

You guys wanna go ahead and cut these poor players now?

We still hold the sixth seed for the playoff berth. We’re ahead of the Ravens who are ahead of the Dolphins. Do you all think we should make the push with out these old, weak losers? We will be better without them right now?

Honestly?

I don't

And I’m sure they don’t want to either just this second. But I don’t know if they’ll be able to survive another offseason.

by Adam Stites on Dec 13, 2009 6:26 PM EST up reply actions

No, of course not

They’re still the best the Jaguars have, but the point is that that’s not a good thing. They are weak links that will be replaced in the offseason.

agree

technically we are rebuilding and we cant do it all in one season. gene will make the adjustments in the offseason to get younger

by jags2732 on Dec 13, 2009 6:30 PM EST up reply actions

I agree it'll need to be addressed

But nailing these guys to a tree isn’t helping anything right now. It’s sniveling. That’s my opinion. I am proud of the team. They played their ass off. MJD fell several times today. Did you see that? Was that their (the O-line) fault? Is Drew trash?

Vae Victis!

by viator on Dec 13, 2009 6:35 PM EST up reply actions

All I'm saying is that they're simply not getting it done, and they're not getting any younger

Yes, they played hard. But if I were out there, I would’ve played hard too, but I also wouldn’t have gotten the job done. I don’t question their heart, just their skills. That’s as objective as I can keep it.

In Gene We Trust.

by MoveThoseChains on Dec 13, 2009 6:42 PM EST up reply actions

We're still in the hunt

We may be as bad as everyone says, but we’re still ahead of all wild-card contenders except for Denver. Am I a hopeless optimist, or does that feel great?! Cry if you wanna. This lost just doesn’t hurt so bad.

We have to beat Indy!

All Losses

Hurt bad. Maybe thats just my personality, but losing to me is the worst thing in the world. Their is a feeling in my gut I get after I have lost in anything, whether it be football or wrestling, that is unexplainable. I can’t stand it, and I hope these guys can’t either.

As soon as someone begins a statement with "isn't that bad" I shake my head.

Yeah he isn’t that bad but he isn’t good either. Interior line sucks. Though I would get rid of Vince and Brad before I would Uche.

Talent Executes Whatever plays are called

This reminds me of back when Barry Sanders was in his prime. The Lions play calling was going to Barry almost 75% of the time, yet he had the talent to get yards. Our problem is a total lack of talent in the middle of the offensive line. When the players and coaches are saying that “We need to execute better” What they really mean is “It would be nice if we had more talent that can execute” Mo Jo is a top 5 back, Our quarterback is acceptable, and our receivers are acceptable. The problem is the line. Fix the line and Dirk looks like a genius.

by DownTownJax on Dec 13, 2009 7:50 PM EST up reply actions

Exactly

I’m not saying Garrard is an elite quarterback, but he is capable of leading a team to the playoffs and winning. Give him some time and separation, and he can lead drives.

Let's throw it again to the 1 legged man !

I think we should continue the art of not spreading out the defense with young fast players and keep throwing it to a 1 legged man Mike Sims-Walker – this will definitely improve MJD’s running lanes Dirk – what a MORON !!!

Please guys don't start it again

Wew lost that’s it. We have the chance. Brad will be replaced; So as Vinnie. Uche playing OK.
The playcalling-well I gice that to John/Collin/chris/Terry.

BUT PLEASE STOP CALL FOR HEADS AFTER LOSSES!

by Zoltan from Budapest on Dec 13, 2009 4:20 PM EST reply actions

Brad and Vinny

are on their way out, but Uche will be fine. I WILL call for Dirks HEAD, and I HAVE been calling for it all season. He gets into predictable patterns and play calling all the time, and he is the reason we lost. When you go three and out as much as we did today, with the WRs, TEs, and RBs we have then it IS play calling. Oh as for the comment from MoveThose Chains, do you seriously call yourself a Jaguar fans? I can understand calling for peoples jobs, heads, and critiques of the team as a whole but are you really saying we don’t have good players?

by Messina on Dec 13, 2009 8:37 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed

This place is sounding like the Jags.com message board right now.

We lost to a better team. We didn’t play as well as we could have. We clearly do have some talent issues. That’s a given for a re-building team.

On a separate issue: why did it seem like the wet, slippery field only affected Jags players? We seemed to have WRs and Mojo slipping all over the place.

It was a nice turn out...

Dolphins were everywhere. We still have a solid young team, despite the loss. For all of those who are calling for firings and cuts. Learn to be a fan, ripping apart your team shows the depth of your shallowness. Shame on you. You the “fans” should be cut.

for this team to take the next step

it is crucial that we rebuild the interior of the offensive line so maurice can be more effective. he can only do so much by himself

by kyjagsfan on Dec 13, 2009 5:47 PM EST up reply actions

I've

Called for Meester’s and especially Manuwai for a while now. The interior line is pedestrian at best, and just isn’t getting it done, not only in the passing game but the running game as well. Those two were beat off the ball all day, and overpowered every running play.

I don’t think this is Dirk bro. I’m no doubt going to take heat for this, but Dirk is one of the better coordinators in the league. Why he consistently called runs up the middle, I’m not sure. But I don’t think that was necessarily his doing. Jones-Drew lives in this fantasy land that we are going to overpower teams with our sorry offensive line. I think Dirk is afraid of upsetting Drew, or Drew has more power than we think. Whatever it is, Dirk needs to do whats best for the whole offense and not just to get Drew his carries.

Yeah

I didn’t agree with that call, but had it worked, everyone would laugh and call it our signature play again. Remember last season that was our play

That play always works

and it was working well in the 1st half. I personally did not like the call. I would’ve PA and passed, or thrown a short pass to Thomas or something. But come to think of it, Thomas may have been hurt considering that he didn’t see the ball much and he wasn’t returning the ball in the second half.

by Ewdtrey on Dec 14, 2009 6:01 AM EST up reply actions

play calling

the play calling today just flat out sucked. It really gets me made when we are on the one yard line and we still do not use gregg jones, let the guy push it in. Also Mike Sims Walker was playing against a lot of man to man coverage today, so why not take a shot deep to him. This was a tough one today, however i still think if we can win two of the next three we just might get in. But if not, as Vic would say, the arrow is pointing way up for this team.

The defense did very well

today for the most part. I was very impressed with the shut out in the second half. This defense is looking good, and Brackinridge is filling in nicely, and so is Allen, who just may start for good.

by Messina on Dec 13, 2009 8:39 PM EST reply actions

Allen played

really well. Tyron…not so much. At least not in the coverage aspect of a CB’s duties. Tackled well and caused a couple fumbles I think. I kinda mix him up with Gerald every once in a while, in my memory that is with their similar play/body types.
I wish we would have started Stanley in place of Ellison, when the Dolphins were in obvious, run it down our throat mode. Ellison is the smallest DT of the 4.

by Ewdtrey on Dec 14, 2009 6:10 AM EST up reply actions

T. Brak

Had 9 tackles. Sounds good at first, but thats the only stat needed to evaluate his performance, and its not a good one.

Are other teams loading the box against the Jags?

I haven’t been able to see any highlights of the last few games, so I find it hard to believe that Maurice is having trouble finding running room against a 7 man front.

by JagsAlex87 on Dec 13, 2009 9:31 PM EST reply actions

Maybe

But it still doesn’t explain why the line can’t get a solid push

by JagsAlex87 on Dec 13, 2009 10:31 PM EST up reply actions

He was getting hit in the back field

it’s not that they aren’t getting a push. They aren’t keeping their blocks, and they are whiffing on others.

by Ewdtrey on Dec 14, 2009 6:11 AM EST up reply actions

Garrard needs to go!!!!!!

I don’t think that it is neccesarilly Koetters fault. He said that he gets paid to make Garrard look better and judging by how he plays, he doesn’t have much to work with. This team needs to dump him or get a late round draft choice for him.

by DeathDealer666 on Dec 14, 2009 11:38 AM EST reply actions

.....no

He’s still better than plenty of other quarterbacks out there who don’t also have the good games that Garrard has. It is time to draft a quarterback to develop, and it has been that time for a little while now, but Garrard can still provide a couple more years of decent football while the rookie develops.
