Well

Right now it’s hard to say which sucks more: our D or our O. Neither is doing much.

Terrible decision by Garrard

Sims-Walker was sitting in the middle of the field for an easy 1st down.

Right.

Obviously it’s up to David to sack Tom Brady, open lanes for MJD, stop Kevin Faulk from running all over us, and cover Randy Moss.

Oh, and he should make better draft picks, too. Let’s get serious, we have bigger prolems than David Garrard.

Please people REALITY CHECK please!

This team being in playoff contention is more than anyone ever expected. We were supposed to go at BEST 7-9.

Then we have a team loaded with rookies and two 2nd year DE. And a load of guys NO ONE WANTED.

Gene has been doing patch work with the roster all season.

Eben Britton gets whiffed on about every play

The interior O line blows= No lanes for MJD and sacks for Garrard

The LBers are overrated and can’t cover horse shit.

We have/had Nelson for a Free Safety.

True

Us barely beating the worst teams in the league disguised our record. This season was way more fun than it ever should have been and we should appreciate it. At the same time this game is ridiculous and there is no excuse.

We have 5 draft picks in the 2010 draft. That kind of hurts. More patchwork from Gene and we might be ok.

by jimbrophoto on Dec 27, 2009 2:35 PM EST up reply actions

This true

It must be said we had a lot of schedule help with our 7 wins.

We’ve got plenty work to do. Plenty of “talent holes”. Despite the overall success of our draft this year, it’s looking more and more like we need multiple drafts to really be consistently competitive.

Your right,

I think we all know that the Jags are gonna be better next year with this draft class being better and next years crop coming in. Next year might be a real good one

by JagSoldier on Dec 27, 2009 3:44 PM EST up reply actions

OK, big loss

Lessons learned? Our D is not good against a decent QB. No pass rush, and we have to sell out to stop the pass so much that we are crap against the run.

Lewis is a VERY big part of our offense.

Garrard is struggling to get anything done. O-line is not good, but neither is David.

Mojo is a beast, but NO defense is going to be scared of an offense that consists on 1 man.

Britton is going through a bit of a slump, getting beat way too often.

Jennings is decent.

Our play-calling is so predictable it’s scary.

Next season

oline will improve
LEwis will be healthy coupled with Zach Miller
Mike Simis-Walker improves along with MIke Thomas Jarrett Dillard and Troy WIlliamson (yes troy wiliamson) + any new rookie WR… im sure well draft at least one
Cox will improve
Jennings will improve…
Garrad plays well under pressure… or when theres a threat to him…
I wonder how he will play with a solid backup rookie QB

by hawk16lx on Dec 27, 2009 3:46 PM EST reply actions

d-line has to improve

cause they cant get any worse, can they?

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 3:52 PM EST up reply actions

yea too bad

that we not only drafted harvey in the top 10, but we gave up sooo much to get him there

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 3:55 PM EST up reply actions

I still have nightmares about that.

Throw in the picks we traded for Groves and its down right awful

by JagSoldier on Dec 27, 2009 3:56 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah

The 08 draft will hunt us for a while…

we say it alot

but like 7 yrs of first round busts, 3 in the top ten, realllyyy hurts

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 3:59 PM EST up reply actions

so far he has

bringing in new players every week

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 4:02 PM EST up reply actions

He might have more good players for us

in 2 drafts then Harris in 6 years…

Life without knowledge is death in disguise

by Zoltan from Budapest on Dec 27, 2009 4:04 PM EST up reply actions

yea prob

looks like he already has a better 1st round draft pick in monroe than harris had in 6 yrs

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 4:08 PM EST up reply actions

if u really think about it

its horribly pathetic to miss on so many straight 1st rd picks, especially the ones in the top ten, like wtf are you getting paid for?

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 4:13 PM EST up reply actions

He is in Detroit

with a cuople ex Jags…so…

I want to see

Jennings get more carries next year and I also would love to see more TE sets with Lewis and Miller. They have talent and should be used more. Draft some more big bodies and a new QB to develop please

by JagSoldier on Dec 27, 2009 3:47 PM EST reply actions

If we can

just get a solid O line Garrard may just surprise us.

by JagSoldier on Dec 27, 2009 3:48 PM EST reply actions

i still have faith

he cant carry a team. like vic says, hes not elite, but he is good

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 3:51 PM EST up reply actions

i want more jennings carries too

mjd started to like tired towards end of the season plus help extend his career. we need big bodies, i think with a better d-line the secondary could be decent. can only cover for so long, our d-line isnt just bad, its the worst

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 3:50 PM EST reply actions

The secondary should not have to cover for

longer than3-4 seconds top. These QBs we play against have all day to stand there and wait for a WR to get open.

by JagSoldier on Dec 27, 2009 3:54 PM EST up reply actions

When we will find passrushers

the secondary will be better too…

by Zoltan from Budapest on Dec 27, 2009 3:58 PM EST up reply actions

yup

can you name anyone in the giants secondary? i cant, but they still have a good d cause their front four is so good

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 3:59 PM EST up reply actions

exactly

mathis=pro bowler, cox, alexander, smith=decent players with good upside. its just that we get nooo pressure at all. any nfl qb can throw with all the time

I just looked

at the 2008 draft and the guys we passed on. Man what was Shack thinking Jared Mayo, Chris Johnson, Joe Flacco, and the list keeps going.

by JagSoldier on Dec 27, 2009 4:06 PM EST reply actions

need drafting

has killed us soo bad. we needed weapons for leftwich so we drafting williams and jones….needed ends so we traded our whole draft away for harvey groves……BAP BAP!

by jags2732 on Dec 27, 2009 4:10 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah

Thankfully Gene is atrue BAP guy. I think he might draft a LB (spikes) or a CB iother then a FS;/DE in the 1st

Phins lost as well

But don’t fool ourselves.

Go 8-8; and that’s it….
This team is NOT belong to the playoffs. Just not yet….

Your running was good at the beginning of the game...

…when your O-Line formed a pocket AROUND MJD. That was a nice strategy, in my opinion, instead of pushing a pile where MJD is surrounded by the opposition, have a pile created by Jags players that can just push forward.

Hire OC.

The only highlight of the game was that

beside the TD drive. Congratulation to the W by the way. Well deserved success!
