Kennard Cox and Wyche could be active today….
Michael Coe I think will play his 1st game as a Jaguar too.

When Is Brian Witherspoon going to take one all the way

I’ve got a bit of a love-hate relationship with him, but from time to time he looks so tantalizingly close to taking one to the endzone. It drives me crazy.

Well

It won’t be today. He is inactive.

by KeithG on Dec 6, 2009 12:27 PM EST up reply actions

I hope we will see Thomas or Owens returning today

Brian can do a 30 yard return; and next time he just fumble it. I feel what you feel about him.

By the way: Can finally our defense score its first points his season already????

Life without knowledge is death in disguise

by Zoltan from Budapest on Dec 6, 2009 12:29 PM EST up reply actions

Never.

I don’t think he is all that good. All he has is speed. I think it’s time he returned to track. But then again even his amazing 10.3 time is slow compared to the sub 10 times running are doing now (Tyson Gay USA runs a 9.69 and Usain Bolt JAM runs 9.58).

by Slvrgun on Dec 6, 2009 1:03 PM EST up reply actions

I don't know what it is

But I’m increadably anxious about today’s game. Maybe it’s because the Jaguars are completely unpredictable, but I’ve got no clue what’s going to be on the field in 30 minutes. Will it be the offensive beast or the offensive least? Will the defense make a play? Will Andre Johnson have a huge day without Rashean on the field?

So many questions, all we can do is wait to get the answer…

Big Cat Country!:: The Official Home of the Unofficial Blog of the Jacksonville Jaguars!

by River City Rage on Dec 6, 2009 12:27 PM EST reply actions

I answer it

Texans have a biiiig day in passing offense. I predict 150-250 yards for Andre alone…

Offense will play good (this is the time David can Shut up the Tebow talk…fir a while; and I expect big things from that “offense meeting” too.
I hope Koetter found a good role to MJD; because today we need him too biiiig time.

By the way: where are you Chris? Home or Sportbar?

Yes, without a doubt.

I want to see the offense that uses Thomas to open up for Jones-Drew

Big Cat Country!:: The Official Home of the Unofficial Blog of the Jacksonville Jaguars!

by River City Rage on Dec 6, 2009 12:35 PM EST up reply actions

And vice versa

They could be a deadly combo and the Jaguars teased us with the possibilities at the beginning of the season. I really want to see more of those end arounds.

Before this year I hated that play, but Thomas is just so fast that he has to get positive yardage every time.

You know wha I found interesting?

When I went back and watched some of the games over the last few weeks, Harvey has been doing well getting in the backfield. He just gets the a moment too late, most of the time. But he is improving.

by alwaysforgiven821 on Dec 6, 2009 12:39 PM EST up reply actions

I heard a great comment about Harvey

That if we had another decent DE on the other side, we’d get more sacks because Harvey would do the pressure, and the other DE would get the “garbage sacks” (i.e. like Bobby McCray did a few years ago). Right now it’s Harvey pushing the QB into nothing, if there was someone on the other side, we might see more sacks and less “hurries”

Big Cat Country!:: The Official Home of the Unofficial Blog of the Jacksonville Jaguars!

by River City Rage on Dec 6, 2009 12:44 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah

Harvey gets pressure, and the QB has 5 billion escape options because nobody else is getting any pressure AND there is almost always an open receiver.

by KeithG on Dec 6, 2009 12:45 PM EST up reply actions

Texans inactives:

Jacoby Jones is out. Does this mean it will be easier to cover Andre Johnson considering Mathis is out, or will it make no difference?

Steve Slaton is out. Will it make it easier to stop the run? Heck… they don’t run much anyway, do they?

And… no Owen Daniels. I think that is the most important one. Again, another reason we might be able to focus on Johnson more, but this is going to take away one of the weapons they have that has hurt us in the past.

by alwaysforgiven821 on Dec 6, 2009 12:38 PM EST reply actions

Jones is out because he missed the plane

Big Cat Country!:: The Official Home of the Unofficial Blog of the Jacksonville Jaguars!

Wow.

I don’t understand how teams can think that the “meet at the airport” is a better idea than "meet at the stadium a little early, that way this (and the Groves thing) don’t ever happen.

Vic says it’s because it makes for a later night for the players and coaches when they get home, but I think that’s an extra hour that’s well worth it.

Tyron Brackenridge will start for Rashean Mathis. Quentin Groves will start for Julius Williams at DE.

Do you think that Groves can have a good showing? He needs to have a good game, I think, if he wants to have a chance of staying on the team next year.

I'm OK with both of them.

Spikes is a solid LB, he’d be great on our defense. Jack would drool over his upside.

I don’t know much about Case, though if he’s a young qb that we can develop, I’m OK with it.

just to be clear here that's a bug plus right?

I assume you’re referring to how he managed the transition between coaches with different systems extremely well – thus proving he at least has the brains required?

I agree that’s notable. Not sure if I’ve got this right, but U of H’s coach is the former OU offensive coordinator, so Case is playing in the same system as Bradford, but arguably with a lower talent level than OU.

by alsonot on Dec 6, 2009 2:22 PM EST up reply actions

He has a ton of upside, which is the only reason I think he’d go in the second. People pick QBs way tooearly.
