Wide Recievers Greatly Improved
Id just like to say for once we dont have to worry about improving our WR corps this summer. Lets think about each one:
1. Mike Sims-Walker- Turning into one of the best in the leauge. Not quite Andre Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald, but reminds me alot of Chad Johnson since he doesnt possess the same FREAK ability of Fitzgerald or Andre Johnson. GRADE: A
2. Torry Holt- Solid addition, but has had some drops along the line. GRADE: B+ 3.
Mike Thomas- Ever since he showed up, the Jaguars are 7-3. GRADE: B+
4. Jarrett Dillard- Now this guy has that Freak ability, but lacks the height. GRADE: B
5. Tiquan Underwood- Flashes in practice from what I've heard. GRADE: ?
6. Nate Hughes- Got his shot at redemption and made it pay. Give him some more chances please GRADE: B
7. Troy Williamson- I'd just like to say, week one we thought he would be the Mike Sims-Walker of the year. And he still has a chance to surprise next year. Just saying. GRADE: ?
And lets not forget the Tight Ends: WOW Zach Miller looked good. The successful Matt Jones project. Marcedes Lewis deserves comeback player of the year. Ernest Wilford should retire as a Jag. Thank you Miami for developing him as a tight end.
Thoughts?

Torry Holt
Can’t catch shit as of late. I like your comparison of Mike Sims-Walker and Chad Johnson. I never thought of that one, I had always said more Reggie Wayne, but I think Ochocinco is an even better comparison. MSW may not have quite the same speed, but they both run similar routes, and have the same tendencies when the ball is in the air.

Honestly Torry's season this year reminds me of Jimmy's last
Great receivers who’s waning physical skills require them to use savvy techniques and crisp routes to beat corners.
Jimmy seemed to drop at least one a game and the announcer would say, “Oh that’s a rare drop from Jimmy Smith.” Very similar to the, “Oh a rare drop from the future hall of famer Holt.”
He is the WR assistant coach
MSW: A
Torry Holt : (player : B person in the locker room: A+)
Mike Thomas: A-
Jarrett Dillard: B (he is the future stater at Torry’s place)
Underwood: – (we don’t seen much for him)
Nate Hughes: C
Troy illiamson: C (I hope we can trade him for something)

Indeed.
Good topic, Hawk, but I do agree with Zoltan’s grades a bit more. And as for Torry… well, I think he is doing just fine for what we ask him to do.

I Don't Think
Dilliard is going to start at the second receiver spot. I think he is going to be priceless over the years as a third down guy, but I’m not sure he would be as effective on the outside. However he has been proving people wrong all of his life, he may just do it again.

I so know what you mean
about that’s a “rare” drop from Holt. Just like that’s a rare inexplicable bad pass from Peyton Manning. He’s a great QB, but he also has at least 2 throws a game that seem to be completely off the mark.
And I don’t know about you guys, but except for a couple primetime games, Brees makes a couple of bad decisions a game.
Troy Williamson
was a beast in the preseason and the begining remember? I just would like to say that he still might have something left. At least give him another chance. Also Hughes had a solid preaseason as well. I agree he shouldnt be a B, considering the Arizonia game, but at least give him a C+ for a good comback.
+1
I think if Troy is brought back(Kind big if), that he could be the regular downfield threat on the outside that we still don’t have. Someone that requires a safety over the top. Imagine taking that 8th man out of the box to allow MJD to really start hitting on all cylinders again.
I think our receivers are pretty interchangeable. I think both Dillard and Thomas can play on the outside, partially because of their good ball skills and great vertical leaps. And it’s been said before, but MSW can play any position, though I think the way he plays the ball requires him to play on the outside to be at his best. In other words he doesn’t have strong hands going over the middle.
With a little more time and progression, I think Thomas could play on the outside with Nate Hughes in the slot(MSW would be the other starter)
Here’s another mix, there really are too many to name all: Imagine MSW and Zach Miller on the outside with Thomas in the slot. Or even go 4 wide and put Dillard in the other inside position.
