"I wouldnt worry about that".

What gives?  I would like to know what everybodys opinion is on Mr. Vic's comments regarding draft picks lately.  Call me paranoid if you wish but I feel as if he is saying we wont need to be worried about draft picks since the Jaguars wont be around anyway.  So, for those of you who read his column, please.................post your opinions about what we shouldnt be worried about.  I value virtually all of your opinions here at BCC.

I think it's funny

It’s not regarding draft picks. It’s regarding Tim Tebow. What I’ve taken from it is that Tim Tebow is not going to be a Jaguar so don’t worry about it.

Yea

He’s referring to Tebow.

What I Think...

Is that Vic is saying that Gene won’t draft Tebow in the first round because a player that has to make a position switch is not going to be worth a high salary. He would be a good pick in the second round where he can be signed for a league minimum salary plus a signing bonus but we don’t have a second round pick. I think he would be a good pick if he can be signed at a league minimum salary because he is a hard-nosed player who puts a lot of effort into the game. He is also a high character player which fits into Gene’s plan. But he probably won’t be around in the third round when it is time for our second pick. The Jags won’t spend a first round pick on the hope that he sells tickets and he probably won’t be around in the third round so it doesn’t do any good to spend time worrying about it.

He wouldn't be a good pick in in the second.

He is not a NFL level QB. Not even a backup.

mid to late third is the highest I would go.

Like I said, I am pretty paranoid about the Jags leaving Jacksonville.

The very thought of the team not being able to sell tickets is amazing to me. Tim Tebow IMO is not NFL QB material. I dont much understand the campaign to draft him. I would take C. Ponder over Tebow if I wanted to grab somebody with some sort of connection with north Florida. But damn, I just cant seeing drafting anybody that isnt going to help the team win, no matter where he is from or where he played college. The misconception that Tebow could change the Jaguars is ridiculas at best.

If Gene not NED to pick #15

he will be NOT in Jaguars uniform next year….
I think Gene not like him as an NFL QB so much; like many in around Jville….

Is that what he's infering?

Are you sure? What if it’s the opposite? Zoinks! What a nightmare.
 But don’t worry.

I love it. Tebow won’t be the BAP on othe Jags board in the first round; therefore, “I wouldn’t worry about it”

Vic's latest:

The Associated Press is reporting that Florida Governor Charlie Crist spoke to the Jaguars about drafting Tebow to help sell tickets. Since when did being a governor make you fit to make moronic suggestions to an NFL owner?

Vic: I wouldn’t worry about that.

And tha is another one:

The governor thinks we should draft Tebow. Seriously? Maybe we should just draft according to the big board and put together a winning team with a mind toward the future.

Vic: Maybe the governor will be going to the combine with us.

Are there this many people on drugs?????

Tebow – great guy, good character, college atheletism, good looks – he’ll look great on tv announcing the college games – like a Herbstreet of the SEC. Pro football? I just can’t make the connection. Put him on any other college team and he’s a nobody.

Imagine what Florida and Washington would be like if Jake Locker and Tim Tebow.

I’m gonna admit that I have a bit of a man crush on Jake Locker.

Jake Locker

wow…more like WOW
The guy is a physical specimen. He’s like Tebow on racehorse roids and caffeine.
I imagine he’ll go to the Rams next year if he decides to go to the draft. And I can’t wait to watch him grow. He’ll definitly have some major growing pains. As of right now, he looks like a strong armed version of Bruce Gradkowski, something I said before Bruce beat the Steelers; which was kind of scary to say at the time.

Yeah

Tim Tebow is a poor mans Jake Locker. Yeah, I said that in the right order…
