What the Jaguars need to get to the Playoffs??

Short post.

Just to inform, the path isn´t hard!!!

The jaguars need to win 3 games and there´s no way they get out of the playoff picture.

But winning 2 games will also finish the deal if it is combined with 1 Jets loss, one loss from the Ravens against the AFC and one loss from the Steelers. (There´s a game between the Ravens and the Steelers in 3 weeks).

If the Ravens lose one but not against the AFC and the Jags win just 2 games, both end with a 9-7 record and an 8-4 Conference record, and I believe the tie break then goes to the Divition record, wich would put them at 4-2. That´s why we must beat Indy!!!!!

That´s not a hard path.

The schedule fits because the Jets have  tough games against Indy and cincy.

The Steelers need to play the Ravens and the Packers.

The Ravens have to visit the Steelers and play Chicago.

Wins in this weekend and in Cleveland ca make it

And if we and the Colts win; I think we will see a lot of Jim Sorgi on Thursday.

This upcoming game is the biggest game of the season!

Plus Miami still has a game against the steelers...

An 2 more agains the AFC so it would be kind of unreal to expect them to win them all….

Steelers Stinks!!!!

Do you have any predictions for Sunday already?

So basically there are 5 results we NEED to get. in a normal scenario

A win against the Dolphins, a win against the Browns, a Packers win against the steelers, a Steelers win against the Ravens and a Cincy win against the Jets…….. That´ll do……

In an optimistic scenario there are just 3 results we look for:
A jags win against the Dolphins a Jags win against the Colts and a Jags win against the Pats/Browns………

Not hard!!!! Lets get them boys!!!

I'd really like it if the Patriots would lose this week

That way if the Jaguars lose to the Dolphins then the Dolphins can take the AFC east and we’ll have another chance to earn a tiebreaker back with a win over the Pats.

Obviously winning Sunday is the easiest scenario, but just in case. The Pats losing can help.

I don't see even now how the Jags could beat

The Patriots in Foxborough on Week 16. Just simply can’T…

With a run the ball, stop the run mentality

If it gets really cold and windy, that’ll probably hurt the Patriots more than us.

Anyway, I agree with you. The Dolphins are a much better target out of the two and I’d much rather we just won this week. I’m just saying I want the Patriots to lose so we’ll have a shot later on if things turn south this weekend.

Yeah

Spread offense has a tendency to bog down in snow. That would be an advantage for us.

I actually

think we match up better against the Dolphins.

by Ewdtrey on Dec 11, 2009 8:32 PM EST up reply actions

I Agree

We stop the run well, and with Ronnie Brown out it only gets easier. The Dolphins running game isn’t to be underrated, however Ricky Williams isn’t as big a threat out of the I or the Wildcat as Ronnie. The Dolphins don’t scare me at all with their receivers. Davone Bess isn’t going to hurt you deep, and Tedd Ginn can’t put things together, despite his great speed. Hartline is turning into a nice intermediate receiver, just as I predicted he would be before the draft. Low cost, high reward pick. Ohio State has put out a few of those the past few years.

On defense I think we can throw all day on them if we can protect Garrard. Their safety play doesn’t blow me away, and Sims-Walker should have fun with Vontae Davis.

Speaking of

Ohio State picks. Malcom Jenkins doesn’t look nearly as good as Derek Cox in coverage. He does tackle well though.

Jenkins

I think he is a strictly cover 2 guy going into the future. I’m glad Gene spotted Derek Cox man, looks just as good if not better in his rookie year than both Jenkins and Davis.

Hopefully Indy rests some starters

and then we can win the games we should win. I’ll temper my expectations though.
