Lack of Elite Prospects?
Has anyone else noticed that all the combine has done has lower the value of the so called "Elite" prospects? A. Smith and Jenkins are major ones, Both RB's Wells and Moreno, Crabtree with his foot injury, and Sanchez and Bradford both didn't have outstanding workouts, just decent workouts. Curry and Jason Smith seem to be the only two to have improved their status. With the seemingly lack of "Elite" prospects, does anyone else agree that Jacksonville will probably not find someone worth #8 money? Personally after this weekends combine...I say trade down, save money because no one seems to be worth #8 pick money now.

Well...
I understand what you’re saying and, for the most part, agree with you. BUT, I guess we should wait until the personal/private/campus workouts are complete. Some guys do a heck of a lot better on their own turf, so to speak. It’s all a great big show of misdirection on the part of the teams right up until it’s their turn to pick anyhow. Hey, it keeps us busy with our own discussions during the down time. Bring on the nachos!

I agree
I’ve thought this for a while and I’ve advocated a trade down from the 8 spot from day 1. This is a deep draft full of talent but like you said, the top of the draft isn’t incredible. The Jaguars should load up with picks and tap into as much of this draft’s talent as possible.
Tradin' Down
I’ve said before that I’m all for trading down. The only thing I’m afraid of is that no one is going to want a #8 pick with so few elite players out there.
I completely disagree
Quick, name me some elite players from last year that were considered elite before the draft (so discount how they did this year). Every year is like this. You can always say something bad about anyone if you look hard enough. Does that mean that no one is an elite prospect ever? No. That’s what the word prospect means. It’s a player that has a chance to be great.

Bush has been a good player
Just everyone expected him to go for 400 yards a game, etc. He’s still a guy who has to be accounted for, if nothing else.

I don't disagree at all
I’m a Reggie Bush fan for sure. Chains was just making the point that every top prospect is nitpicked by the scouts until they don’t seem elite to the fans when they actually are. I was just saying that Reggie was the perfect prospect that seemed to have no flaws.
I don't think Reggie Bush ever lived up to the expectations
He is a good player, but not an elite top 5 draft running back. If both MJD and Reggie were on the FA market, what do you think the outcome would be?

I wasn't saying the Draft
Does not have any talent. Sorry if I was unclear. I was saying that I wonder if the Jags will have a player in mind that will not be a reach at 8. The truly elite players will be gone, such as Aaron Curry, Eugene Monroe, and maybe Andre Smith, along with the other 2 top tackles. While there is a lot of good talent later in the first, early in the second, these players, such as Hakeem Nicks, B.J Raji, and Peria Jerry would be a reach at 8. And everyone knows now that none of the backs are worth a top ten.
That is the quandry this year
Guys lower in the draft have as much appeal as the top 5 – 10 guys. I can’t predict who we will take right now.
