Report:Haynesworth to 'skins

Via-PFT

Our pal Lance Zierlein, a Houston radio host who has a blog at the Chronicle web site, reports that the Washington Redskins will sign Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth upon the start of the free agency period.

Unless, that is, the Titans exceed the offer that the Redskins will be making.

Writes Zierlein:  “My source tells me to look for a contract that could break $100 million with an average of $15 million to $16 million per. My guy is almost never wrong and [Redskins owner] Dan Snyder gets what he wants.”

The bright side?  The next time that Haynesworth tries to remove the scalp of Cowboys center Andre Gurode with a cleat, the behavior will better fit the nickname of Haynesworth’s team.

On Monday, Peter King of SI.com predicted that Haynesworth will land in D.C., pointing out that Snyder was seen dining in Indianapolis with Haynesworth’s agent, Chad Speck.

Horray!! no longer will be in the Titans lineup.

Figured as much, when the Titans didn't use the Franchise tag on him I knew he would be gone

They couldn't franchise him

His contract last year made it so that if he made the probowl he wasn’t allowed to get franchised again.

$100 Million?

Wow that’s a lot for a DT. It doesn’t surprise me that Dan Snyder would be the one dealing it out.

IF

he stays on the field and continues performing the way he has been, he’s worth it.

Thats Big Money

I wonder how motivated he will be to play well with all that money in the bank. I guess the good thing we can get out of this is maybe we can run the ball a little better against Tennessee next season.

Yeah

The only 2 seasons Haynesworth has really lived up to his billing were contract years

Just run it at

Javon Kearse. Kearse was the reason we ran so well in the first half of the second game last year(He’ll probably get cut this year though.). The problem with that was that he was subbed out a lot in the second half.
They also started bull rushing Barnes and Meester more.
Personally, unlike most everyone else, I don’t think we fell apart in that game (Minus Nelson’s crappy play.). I just think the Titans made the adjustments needed to win. Not to mention they played us differently than they play most other teams. They started throwing to their WR’s for one. And they started using Haynes at DE.
I don’t think there were any adjustments the coaches could have made. Our OL was just dominated in that game.
