Not quick enough.

It’s what makes BBS a better blogger than me, I can’t pull off the antagonistic stuff.

People take jokes much better when they are actually funny

under the immature name calling and cliche/baseless “pumping in crowd noise” there were a few points that could be built into something funny (Jaxon DeVille/milk) and I can’t speak for which one the attacks on the city of Indy were, since I’ve never been there.

I lived there 6 years and attended EVERY INDY 500 while I lived there...

After Mississippi… It’s my favorite place I’ve lived…

There was a yearly festival (don’t know if it still goes on) around harvest time that was HUGE!! It was like half the state came out for it and there was a reenactment of the entire Icabod Crane story with the headless horsemen and all… My BEST memories as a Kid were from Indy…

Every year there was a neighborhood santa who would give out presents to all the kids on after the first big snowstorm of the season when everything was white… I loved the state…

Collin, Chris

Maybe my frame of reference is different. Pittsburgh is wonderful city filled with wonderful people. Visiting Pittsburgh was always fun and had many friends there. No problem.

As a Cleveland Browns fan we hated Pittsburgh, everything about them. The Steeler fans would come in droves to Cleveland stadium and they showed up like motorcycle gangs. Browns fans did the same to them. The rivalry was so intense that beating the Steelers was all that was needed to have a good season. That rivalry is why Cleveland and Pittsburgh will always be in the same division.

The NFL has no problem throwing the jaguars around from the north to the south. No one cares where the Jaguars are. No one in the nation cares. No other team cares. Seperate the Bears from the Packers, everyone cares. Move the Jaguars, so what.

We have the lowest national recognition of any team. Why? There is nothing interesting going on. No rivalry, no Super Bowl tradition, no icon head coach, nothing.

I brought a little of that intensity to the post. On purpose, I was obnoxious and incorrect and unjustified. I wanted to stir up as much emotion as I could. I wanted the Colts fans to hate us. I wanted to add to the atmosphere of intense rivalry.

OK, so this is a DIsney area. We have our mascot, we are polite, we like everyone and football is a fun past time. I get it. Just understand it isn’t like that everywhere. Football in much different up north. Being a fan is different.

Just my perspective.

And for that

is one of the main reason why everybody else pairing the jaguars with LA. Because for them, is “Oh which franchise can we put L.A.? Ah, Jaguars , nobody care about them”.
I cannot talk about football popularity in the US. I can talk about the popularity of teams in here. The major market teams, and the lately succesfull teams are in the roll here, such as New England, Pittsburgh, Colts, Giants, and big market teams like Dallas. There are of corse fans of small marketteams, from people who were there once (for example, the lead commentator for the NFL here is a huge Chiefs fan, because once in 90"s he was there when they played against the Steelers-but to be fair, when there is a Chiefs game, you cannot tell he rooting for them) of like there style(The lead analyst, here rooting for the Bears, because he played in a amateur football team as a linebacker, and he really like there style). And even though the Jaguars have has been an elite team in recent years (I mean between 04-07) there are veeery small fanbase they have here as well.
Maybe it is because what you wrote, there was no real big HCs, or fame(if Fred would played in New England in his whole career the way he played in Jacksonville, I don’t think he must waited for 10 years to his 1st Pro bowl…) or Superbowl titles, which they can show to everybody around the county and the world. That’s why thesome of the fans want results now. That’s why many of them don’t have the patience for a rebuilding, the roots of this team are growing, but slowly. Truly, the jaguars must win a Superbowl to the recogntion. Until then the Jaguars will be like the peoples reaction of Richard Jenkins nominated for the oscars in the same category with Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, and Mickey Rourke: “Who is that guy, and how in the world is he in the same category with them?”

What's not to LOVE!

My Uncle has a Deer Camp (2500 acres) that I go to hunt on once every few years. It’s where I used to participate in “Firework Wars” as a kid… you can smoke at 17 years old (although I’m not sure it’s a good thing).
The Chemistry dept at Ole Miss is named after my great great grandfather (A chemistry GENIUS).

Everyone is LAID back. There are very few conglomerate stores and tons of Mom and Pop places.

People there actually respect the 2nd amendment…. There is diversity among the population and everyone seems to understand that it is ok.
Good Service and southern hospitality is the rule rather than the exception.
People in Mississippi actually know how to cook GOOD catfish (you’ll find out when you leave that no other catfish in the country is as good as Mississippi catfish.
You can drive around with a dead deer carcass in your truck on the way to the taxidermist and it isn’t at all out of place…
Having a gun rack on your car doesn’t immediately make you an extremist. The confederate flag doesn’t equal hate for minorities in Mississippi, they seem to understand it’s cultural.
Everyone speaks english.
There is a healthy distrust of the gov’t and people seem to still have the entrepreneurial spirit in that state…

Here in Ft. Lauderdale, There is diversity, but all ethnic groups are rude to other groups and good service doesn’t exist. I miss mississippi…

everything you said is right

im at ms state right now
i hunt, fish, play ultimate frisbee, football
ate a mom and pop burger joint the other day and the burger was bigger than the bun lol
ethnic groups and everyone in general are laid back unless youre around what i call the “southern businessman”. Most of them are real estate agents but they have this impression like they overlaugh at everything and they try to outgrip your handshake.
all-in-all i dont feel as comfortable anywhere else, but i do hope to move to the mountains one day so i can snowboard. and also visit jacksonville one day
