Ask Connor Barwin
Connor Barwin has decided to answer some of the fans' questions... Post any questions you have in the comments, and he'll get to them as soon as he's able to do so.
This is another testament to the character of Connor that he would go the extra mile to reach out to the fans. Very few top rated draft prospects would even consider taking time out of their day to talk to the fans, and I hope you all take advantage of this opportunity. He's a guy the Jaguars' coaches singled out by name, and there is definitely a good possibility we'll see him in Teal come September.
Thank you, Connor

No, I tried doing a couple Dwight Freeney spins once and it didn’t look quite the same so I decided to just be myself and do what I am good at.

I like what I see from you, your film, work ethic, etc…
Why should the Jaguars draft you?

What other players from the Bearcats' that are draft eligable this year should we keep an eye on?
The End Is Nigh...
The three seniors we had in our secondary are all very talented. Trevor Canfield played OG, and was as good as any guard I saw at the senior bowl. Dominic Goodman (WR), Corey Smith (OLB), and Teryl Bird (DT), are all very good players who I think are all underrated right now.

What prompted you to switch from TE to DE
Also, just what the hell is a Bearcat?

Coach Kelly asked me to move to DE right before spring ball my senior year because he thought I could be a bigger impact and help are team more on defense.

Do you consider yourself more of an NFL-caliber 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB player?
by MoveThoseChains on Mar 16, 2009 4:50 PM EDT reply actions
I think I can play in both defenses. I think its clear I’m the prototypical size of a 3-4 OLB, but I think a lot of 4-3 DE’s are my size as well, and I think coaches are using them there for a reason. But I know one thing, and thats I couldn’t be a DE in a 3-4 defense.

I honestly don’t know much about the Jaguars franchise. I think it would be a great place to play and I know they have great coaching from what I heard from guys that played for them at the senior bowl.

If the Jaguars were to draft you,
what positions do you see them playing you at? Supposedly we are going to have some 3-4 packages.
If they are playing a 3-4 it would be OLB.

Would you rather be a first round pick to a bad team, or a second round pick to a great team?
I see no scenario where you aren’t drafted in the first two rounds…
The End Is Nigh...
haha I’d rather be a first round pick to a great team.

Did you have any contact with any of the Jags coaches at the Senior Bowl...
If so, what did you think of Ted Monachino or any others?
The End Is Nigh...
Seriously, thank you.
I’d love to see you in Jacksonville!

If you were drafted by a 3-4 team... would you want to be the LOLB or ROLB?
how about in a hybrid 3-4?
