Moreno doesn't help himself at the Pro day
Apparently Stafford looked really good at the UGA pro-day. Moreno, on the other hard, didn't help himself like Wells did. He apparently ran a 4.60 and a 4.63 in the 40. Mysteriously slow. not sure what this will do to his stock, but you have to wonder about it.

Both are good news to me because....
I don’t think the Jags need to address RB this year, especially in the first round. I wouldn’t mind using the 2nd round pick for maybe the back from Pittsburgh, but I’m not sure where he is projected to go. Also, with Stafford doing good means it might increase the chance of a team trading up with the Jags to get Stafford if available at the 8th pick.

LeSean Mccoy is the guy from Pitt… some scouts have him rated in the bottom of the first… I like donald brown from Uconn…
Great Job today Stafford…

Moreno
Really hurt himself today. He is not big enough to run in between the tackles all of the time. A lot of his game in college was bouncing runs outside, and stretch plays. Being an Auburn fan, I cringed every time he got the ball. But this could really drop him to the late first.
Beanie Wells on the other hand would be a great pickup, even though RB is not one of our most critical positions of need.

So
You would rather have a 220 pound back that runs a 4.6 over a 240 pound back that runs a 4.4?

Well
Would you rather have a 220 lb. guy who’s on the field or a 240 lb. guys who’s hurt. That’s the thing that scares me the most about Beanie.

Well
if that’s all you needed to know why even scout the guys?
By those standards alone you would rather have Chris Henry instead of a healthy Brian Westbrook.

By the numbers
Chris Henry weight 230, 40 4.40
Brian Westbrook weight 200, 40 4.57

Obviously
There are going to be exceptions to what you call the rule, plus I was just talking about physical attributes. Are you saying that Knowshon Moreno could be the next Brian Westbrook?

There are plenty
of players with good physical attributes that don’t make it in the NFL.
And I wasn’t saying that Moreno will be the next Westbrook, but I wouldn’t put it past him. They actually are pretty similar players. Try to describe one and not the other.

I wouldn't put too much stock in a forty time.
Football requires more lateral quickness, burst (which can be determined in 10 yard drills), quick short steps as opposed to sprinting which is all about technique, form, straight line speed, stride, and maintaining top end speed.

I would still have Moreno high on my board. He is the best back in the draft and he played in the fast SEC.
Apparently he was quick enough…I remember him shredding the Gators.
