Quick Bytes: Taylor Will Retire a Jaguar

I have some interesting news articles for this week's Quick Bytes. Let me begin with a few tidbits that don't warrant full articles.

NFL | Burnett talked with several teams at combine
Mon, 23 Mar 2009 11:40:09 -0700

Ed Thompson, of Scout.com, reports Central Florida CB Joe Burnett said during an interview that he had formal interviews with the New Orleans SaintsTampa Bay BuccaneersJacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts during the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jaguars | Showing interest in Sanchez
Mon, 23 Mar 2009 11:48:05 -0700

Ed Thompson, of Scout.com, reports the Jacksonville Jaguars met with University of Southern California QB Mark SanchezSunday, March 22, and are scheduled to meet with Sanchez again Tuesday, March 31.

It is clear the team either really likes Sanchez, or really wants other teams to think that they do. Let's hope for the latter, as I'm sure we can all agree that convincing a team your going to draft a guy is of the utmost importance in garnering trade offerings for the player. On to the links!

Possible rule changes coming.

Gene Frenette and his giant ears make the case for a quick turn-around.

The wheels of justice move slowly for Richard Collier.

Gene Frenette (who desperately needs a nick-name) makes the list twice today.

Nice article on the draft and combine by Scout.com.

Why Byron Leftwich isn't starter material.

BJ Raji is moving up draft boards.

The importance of buying tickets and supporting your team in this economy.

Or just Gene "the Gremlin" Frenette

Unfortunately, the truth only comes out game-by-game.

Take this with a grain of salt

But if a little birdy is to be believed, I have some info on the Jags schedule for next year.

One of the Colts game is on Sunday Night football, the home game vs Arizona is on Monday Night, and the Miami, New England, and 2nd Titans games have all been flagged for possible flex games

Wow!

I hope John, that this will be reality and not just a rumour. Sounds good!
Can you tell us, where you have heard the info!

Thanks for reporting this and no offense

but a grain of salt might be the right warning.

Having said that, I can’t help but get excited about the possibility. If the Jag fans demonstrate enough passion around the Colts game, it will always be considered a good television event.

Thats Insane

The league would give us at least two prime time games. They must have confidence in us!…NOT.

But anyway, thats pretty cool. At least the Jags will be on T.V

Burnett from UCF

Burnett would be a good pickup. I watched him play at UCF and he was a very good CB for the Knights and an even better special teams/returner. He was the sole shining star on the team last season, and has been shining since his sophomore year.
