With the eight selections, the Jaguars select...

I meant to do this as a Fanshot, but it keeps telling me the link is invalid.

Fan IQ recently asked BCC to participate in a blog community draft. This is the third I've done and my third different first round pick. The first was Eugene Monroe, though that pick was made when he was just starting to climb draft boards. The second was Jeremy Maclin. I've cooled off on Maclin, and the wide receivers available in the draft in general. For my final mock answer, the Jaguars select

Everette Brown, DE, Florida State

I'm not high on Brown.

Some may like him but I don’t like Everette Brown at eight.

Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Fred Taylor. Sounds about right.

I don't think

Everette Brown makes an instant impact. But I do think that he will be a star in this league in a few years. I like him a lot and wouldn’t be upset with the pick.

Has Jaguars had him in for a visit?

Reason I ask is… I’ve seen a lot of mocks and aside from Mark Sanchez, who with first round potential has the Jaguars ask to come in for a visit? Some say Crabtree and some say Maclin and then you hear Wells… if it’s Gene’s first draft with the final decision, wouldn’t you want to bring in every person you think is your possible 1st round pick? It seems like everytime I hear the Jaguars are bringing in someone for a visit, it seems like mostly 3rd round and beyond type players. Maybe this is a clue to how they’re going to draft and where they’re expecting to trade down to?

Would you hire a guy

without a visit? doubtful. I don’t think this is Gene’s first rodeo. he’s got something brewing… he knows the lights are on… I’m just worried he may try to make a splash… the best deals are left un-noticed. Don’t disapoint dark sith.
