Picture Time: Let's check out the New Uniforms!
First, the Glitter/Sparkle Helmet:
My Take: I like it, the Logo is still the same, it's going to look black in most light situations, but the teal tinkle is going to take some time to get used to.
Teal Home Uniform:
We reduced the weight of the jersey 30% from the uniform of last year, which is real important. It’s going to be more of a compression fit from a performance standpoint, all moisture management technologies in the mesh fabrication, anti-microbial technologies. And also what we’re really excited about, we partnered with this company and we have this new technology called cold black and it’s very interesting. Especially down in Florida where darker colors, for instance, when you wear the teal, if you have the teal fabrication without the cold black, with the cold black technology on the fabrication, the fabric will not retain heat. So it’ll be 10 to 15 degrees less in heat compared to the fabrication without it."

I Like it
The helmet looks the best, but I have no problem with the new jerseys. Although some fellow Hungarian Jags fans, with i connected, said they are sad, that the full bodied cat disapeared, and because of that ,they not like it so much. but As i said i have no problems with it.
Good was to see David looked so slim, Greg Jones and Landri so huge, and Maurice to be so enjoyed the whole show!

Anyway ther are 3-4 more guys who conssider themselves as jaguars fans. I know them only by their nicknames.
Oh and i would love to meet you Chris here, but there is one little problem with tha pint thing-I’m a HUGE antialcholic guy!

Like it overall
Getting used to it. However, I still think the teal looks different. Love the helmets. Really like the away uniform. Wish they had kept the full bodied cat. Wish they would use the all black for third uni. Disappointed about that. What will our third uni be btw? Anyone know?
The new uniforms are ALMOST too simple looking. Heard mentions of looking like Pop Warner. Not far from it IMO

No third uniform
There is no third uniform. Weaver said every home game will be teal and every away game will be white. I’m sure they’ll bring something back in a couple years though.

The more I see it the more I like it.
As to the lines coming out from the J and S in the font if you look carefully it actually sculpts the shape of the top of a football.

The pictures don't do the uni's justice. Wait until you see them in HD, especially the Helmet.
I caught a glimpse of them on Channel 4. Look’s great. I initially didn’t like them too much but after seeing them in HD they look awesome.

They’re much cleaner and modern, yet classic. I’ve never been a jersey guy, but I am honestly considering getting one of those away whites. They look sweet. Apparently you won’t be able to get the away for about a week. according to football fanatics.
I like that the “crawler” is gone from the sleeves. I wanna see more of the helmet before I decide.

I'm not so sure.
When I first saw the Reebok billboard I though they looked like a cross between Seattle and Atlanta.

What am I missing?
The uniforms are so minimal that there is nothing to be disappointed in or get excited about. It is more a standardization of what color we wear when and that is all I see.
I’m sure the fabric is nice, the helmets made me look, but in all honesty, that was it for me. A real big, ok fine, let’s play some football and get these things dirty.

I bet the players don’t really care one way or the other, either. I think the better the Jags play this year, the better the uniforms will look on Sundays.
Kind of like Jordans, at first glance they were some of the ugliest shoes, but any shoe looked great on Jordan putting up 60 points.

I think you are talking about the logo on the jersey which is not the logo others are talking about. The logo with line coming out of the J and S is the one on the banner.

I wish they would have kept the gold and black band on the sleeve. I also wish they had the all black that they used for special games……like the texans and thier battle reds.

Get rid of teal!
Personally, I won’t be happy until the Jags eliminate teal altogether … it’s just not a very manly color. And the players don’t like it … remember a couple of years ago they were all lobbying for fans to wear black to an upcoming night game and Wayne squelched it, said everyone should wear teal? I know the players hate losing the all black option, and so do I.
When we got the team 16 years ago, I was hoping they would look back at the old Jacksonville Bulls unis from the USFL days … maroon as the base color, with silver and black accents … very cool, very tough looking. No team in NFL uses maroon. We could have tied into the history of pro football in Jax and also had really distinctive uniforms.
But these’ll do … especially if Gene Smith kicks some buitt this weekend!

Having looked at some of the up close pics and video on Jags.com, I think the away Jerseys look pretty hard.
They look better than the Home ones do. I say thy look ok… It’ll take some getting used to though.

Worst franchise in the league? The Jags mainly had serious injury problems last year. You’d have to go through many chronically-terrible, and several “good”, teams before getting to the Jags on the whole-franchise greatness scale.
And don’t forget the drama with Vince Young last year.

THE JAGS LET US DOWN YET AGAIN
I am a little late on my post here (sorry i was out of town the last two days) but i cant express enough how disappointing these new uniforms are after all of that build up. Although I like these more than the originals, I was hoping for so much more! These uniforms are SO anti-climatic its not even funny.
Jags…you had a chance to be the envy of the league with a cool new look. One that when we saw we would all go…..“wow!”…..instead, we are left with…….“wait, thats it???”……..
Jags…you had a chance to come up with something that would make the fans of this team proud…..instead we are left to defend ourselves once again to fans of other teams who constantly make fun of us for how poorly this franchise can be ran at times.
Jags…you had a chance to set the bar. Look at the Broncos, the Cardinals, the Vikings etc. These teams did it RIGHT. Their players AND THEIR FANS look GOOD in their uniforms. Our fans are basically going to be wearing a jersey that looks like a teal t-shirt with some small half stripes by the arm-pit. B O R I N G ! ! !
If we are going to be stuck with teal, then wayne and the gang could have at least come up with a uniform that made us forget how bad that color is. instead it just emphasized it more.
AND NO MORE ALL BLACK OR ALL WHITE? ARE YOU SERIOUS? WHY NOT???
this change didnt improve our identity, it only left us having to question it more.

I am using that pic of AP as an example of what our uniforms could have looked like….now obviously we wouldnt copy the vikings exactly, but this is just a photoshop’d example of how much cooler looking our jerseys could have looked with a style similar to theirs.
