UPDATE: The Jaguars opening day offensive line and second day thoughts
I meant to include the poll with my write up of Monroe. Either way, please give your thoughts in the comments
Things to look for today
1. If either Michael Johnson out of Georgia Tech or DJ Moore of Vanderbilt is available in the 3rd round, they'll be the pick.
2. Expect at least one segment of Kiper constantly saying "If the Jaguars were true to their board, Michael Crabtree would be the pick"

Good question.
I’m wondering if it would benefit Monroe to learn from Tra Thomas, but then again, LTs hardly ever need learning time.

Yes they do,
just so happens most times they are babied along so their stats don’t look bad.

Gimme the best tackle coming out of training camp.
Call it BAT. Best Available Tackle out of training camp.
Jacksonville Jaguars. It's what I do.

my opinion
i think thomas will be the LT, monroe will be the RT, and britton will be the RG. after this year, we’ll see Monroe as the LT, britton as the RT, and pashos moved to RG. thomas will be cut.

sounds good to me… a wee bit nervous about having two rookies on the right side this year though…

We may have changes midseason
from Thomas, Pashos, Meester, Manuwai, Britton.
Britton is a little more physical than Monroe and he’s played on the right before in college; and this allows him and Monroe to stay at one position all year then we transition
to Monroe, Pashos, Nwaneri, Manuwai, Britton. (Don’t make both moves at the same time to make the transition more seamless.) That’s one mean and young OL with tons of depth. I like this BAP stuff now, because I know I would have done something differnt in that position.
Then next year we cut Mo Williams and Meester.

great picks Gene
What a difference with the new regime. 2 solid picks big guys football players great attitudes no prima donnas. 2 bookend tackles that can anchor the Oline for the next 10 yrs. Gene Smith believes in building from the lines out and BAP just happened to fall that way. Now hopefully they can get some playmakers and a DT in the second day.

Yeah... It wasn't sexy, but BAP -
Even with T.Thomas (who I’ll be pulling for), the O line still shows lots of age. Collier was one of the young replacements. It compares to Cleveland’s QB situatuion… better to have too much talent than none. Man, I just love the idea of JAX putting together one of the best “O” lines in the league. BIG. Kind of like Dallas of the 70’s. A big, tough line, can make any QB look descent. Something to consider for ’10 and ’11 draft. Hand it to Gene… not sexy, but disciplined.
Load the box now mother f’r!!!

A good bet would be...
equal yards rec’d = rushed from MJD.

good line but use tra for his knowledge
let these guys learn because they will be going up against some of the best ends in the league twice a year and they will need to learn the ropes
i don;’t see them cutting ties with meester and williams just yet i do see pashos getting cut soon
