Jacksonville Jaguars sign 18 Undrafted Free Agents
Between the end of the draft and this morning the Jacksoniville Jaguars have signed 18 undrafted free agents. These are players who sign with the Jaguars because they believe they have a chance to make the roster. On a team with as many holes as the Jaguars, hitting a home run or three with the UFA's is key.
We'll preview these guys in more depth later on, but for now, here's the list.
Russell Allen, LB, 6-3, 230, San Diego State
Kyle Bell, FB, 6-1, 233, Colorado State
Brock Bolen, FB, 6-0, 233, Louisville
Nathan Brown, QB, 6-1, 219, Central Arkansas
Weldon Brown, CB, 5-10, 185, Louisiana Tech
Michael Desomeaux, SS, 6-0, 204, Louisiana-Lafayette

Tyler Lorenzen, TE, 6-5, 226, Connecticut

Nathan Brown
This kid will be a HUGE pickup for the Jags. I’ve watched him for 4 years. Fantastic QB, great leader, and tenacious competitor.
Agreed… He played great this year against Tulsa

Yeah Michael Desomeaux

I’m kind of excited for Cecil Newton. Read up on this guy. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1248540
Found another nugget on Newton
From Rival’s top 20 small school prospects
6. C Cecil Newton (6-4/316), Tennessee State
The Buzz: A powerfully built center with an explosive first step and excellent range in space. Newton does a nice job getting into defensive tackles quickly and has the body control to chip and get out to the second level. He has the size and athleticism to work his way into a starting lineup at the next level and is one of the nation’s top 10 center prospects.
And they said this about Nathan Brown:
7. QB Nathan Brown (6-1/215), Central Arkansas
The Buzz: Brown is a bit undersized by NFL standards, but has a thick, well-built frame and the athleticism to move around and find throwing lanes in the pocket. He has a strong arm and displays good balance and accuracy on the move. Brown is ranked among the top 10 senior quarterbacks, and with a good combine effort he could really move up draft boards. He reminds some scouts of Tony Romo, who played at Eastern Illinois.
Joe Monteverde
Heard the Jags are trying out University of Richmond long snapper Joe Monteverde this weekend. Anyone heard anything?
Fly, Eagles, Fly...
Long Snapper
It seems like the Jaguars bring in a long snapper every offseason to see if they can find someone better than Joe Z. They never do though. One of these days, it will happen and no one will know what to do.
Especially
Since he is kind of like the team spokesman on game previews. Imagine that, the longsnapper as the face of the team.

Clue from Vic about Mitch King
After hearing Jack Del Rio talk about Mitch King after the combine, do you think the Jags will make a play at him in free agency?
Vic: I asked that very question following the draft and coach Del Rio said it was unlikely the Jaguars would sign King to an undrafted contract because it was unlikely he could make the team, the result of the Jaguars having drafted Terrance Knighton. "He’s a good football player, too," said Del Rio, who was taken by surprise by my question because he had gotten so caught up in the picks that he failed to realize King hadn’t been selected. I could tell by the look on his face that he truly likes King as a player, but they have to be fair to the undrafted guys. Don’t bring in guys if they don’t have a legitimate chance to make the team.

King already signed with Tennessee
We can bury that hatch. And while we’re at it, Nate Ness signed with Cleveland and John Parker Wilson signed with the Falcons. As far as I know, Greg Laybourn and Derek Pegues remain unsigned.
Do you know
If the safety from UCF, Shareef Rashad has been signed. I’ve met him before, he’s a pretty chill guy with a lot of potential.

pegues is still unsigned
the other Miss State s keith fitzhugh signed with the jets
we have no reason not to sign pegues
Surreal to be Teal

Good Luck K.P. hope to see you on the field next year!!!
Has anyone
heard of Aaron Brown. Kind of reminds me of Reggie Bush. Could be a really good change of pace back. He’s taller, but blazing fast.
